Alpha Squadron: The Flight Journal of Talons Pryde (Excerpt) |
As we were in the process of rescuing the pilots and taking them as refugees, three peculiar, as if that was not the norm, ships suddenly appeared and seemed to move towards other pilots. I marveled that a ship that small could have an FTL drive. I radioed to the dropship to attempt to salvage any wreckage they came across in hopes of getting weapons or engines from them. About a minute later, four more planes, and I call them that because of the wings, did the same as the three previous ships. Almost immediately, they moved to intercept my dropship. I scrambled my wing to engage and protect the recovery efforts. And at that point, I declared this fighter's faction an enemy that must be destroyed. They actively attacked a salvage and rescue effort when we were non-engaging in their previous battle. The original wedge faction did attack, but they broke off when this faction arrived. The former never reengaged and seem to have abandoned this area. My wing reported that they had some sort of shielding technology similar to the ones I had developed for my heavy ground quads. I ordered them to engage and disable all forces by any means necessary. I also ordered clan protocol suspended for the duration of this operation – they could engage enmass and without mercy. Any and all members of this faction, should they be captured, would be made bondsmen of the Jaded Hearts and subject to Jade Falcon law. The battle was intense and quick. We decimated the faction and took nearly a dozen bondsmen. The other faction, we treated as hostile refugees. As my dropship completed docking, a smaller wedge shaped capital ship arrived. I felt that shadowy pull once again. My crew asked if they should launch back out. I should my head. “Neg, Star Captain.” He looked at me quizzically. I met his eyes. “Something is different with these.” Turning towards the navigation and sensors officer, I asked, “Do we have a distinct eye-eff-eff for these two factions? If so, do these new arrivals match either of them?” The officer took a short moment. “Aff, Galaxy Commander. These new arrivals match the eye-eff-eff of the first encountered faction. They seem to be on a search mission based on their manoeuvre patterns.” |

Well I'm sure we won't have the time to reach the goals. Not negativity, just mere realism on my part. You are not to grind, your orders are to just be casual and have fun. Let me handle the grinding where it can be handled. I won't say I expected more from you guys as I know RL takes over and I wasn't explicit enough about ReMob. Yeah, you all told me you understood the goals but that didn't mean all of you would participate. I will not say the participation has been entirely poor, I'd say some of you who are flying are doing fewer, high quality contributions. Some others are doing the usual activity, some came back and some others sadly aren't doing a thing yet. Aaaand that's the truth. I've spent countless hours here flying and I'm making an effort in writing these lines to avoid falling asleep, but I must continue. Let's get on the news.

No contact insofar as Gamma for Slumber Party. A few ReMob goals achieved but many others are still incomplete. I'm not optimistic to be honest. But, I won't force you guys into burnout; if you can't , you can't. My fault for not organizing us well enough. We just enjoy the ride....hey, we already got the best fighters around insofar as EHTC. While we enjoy the ride, I'll take on a very personal goal here to also make a point.
Highlighted Competitions: Obviously,the aforementioned Squadron (Re)Mobilization will be with us during this month. And of course, Alpha's Slumber Party (yes, click here) :v (Brief) Description: Every month, pilots from Alpha squadron will fly PvP matches against pilots of a designated squadron of the TIE Corps. Alpha will fly against every single other unit of the TC, one squadron per month. Performance metrics will determine the winning pilots and the winning squadron. The objective isn’t much to spam LoCs but to create unit cohesion, build unit morale and motivation and obtain field experience against real opponents. | The loss of Seerlan still hurts but I personally feel the fight must continue. I am no longer putting any pressure on grinding where I feel was the point that made Seerlan quit. No matter how much he states this is due to the EH's nature, I still feel I could've done something to prevent this. Please, if you feel like doing the chores let me know. I'd rather have you enjoying fiction or IUs or art or just the casual sortie (and if there's casual flight activity of high quality like HSing, well, fine by me!) ...anything where you feel you enjoy while contributing to us.
