Creative Corner

"Commander" said Varik, as he looked up from the holopad he was keying data into. "Is everything alright?"

Witchblade walked calmly into the office of her XO and glanced out the viewport at the end of the chamber, "yes, I was on my way to the squadron briefing room. Wing Commander Task wanted to see me about our new recruits but your office is on my way."

Varik tapped his chin thoughtfully. "The wing commander wants an update?"

"It seems so, fortunately I do have our last report here" she tapped the datapad she was carrying gently on Variks desk.

"It's a great bunch of pilots, he'll be happy."

A smile blossomed on Witchblades face as she agreed with her XO. This future was looking favourable!

This report covers the first two weeks of August 2022 and is arriving in your digital inbox showcasing our new squadron colors, banner and patch!

Gamma Squadron continues its impressive growth, we're up to 6 members now! Welcome to all our new faces, I hope you've all been having fun getting to know people on Discord. Make sure you pass by the #hammer-cantina channel as well as the #gamma chat and say hello!

The Gamma Banner and Patch competitions were both well recieved competitions. All of our submissions have been uploaded to the Gamma Squadron page in the EH wiki to ensure they remain online for future use and reflection as they were all high calibre entries. All of the entries were put to a vote by the Gamma Squadron pilots, whom selected the patch by CPT Westric Davalorn and the banner by LT Asen Starlancer!

For our Patch competition the results are: CPT Westric Davalorn in first, LT Asen Starlancer in second, LCM neurotictim in third and honourable mentions to CPT TheBlackxRanger who made two other submissions.

The Banner competition results are as follows: LT Asen Starlancer in first place, CPT Westric Davalorn in second and LCM neurotictim in third.

TIE Corps in Battle Season 5 has also begun, it will be running from today until September 16th and competition rules are on the competition page. Assignments for the first round:

• TIE-TC 214: The Virus
• XvT-TC 102 - Wing VIII: Shadow of Time
• XWA-TC 13: Hammer to Anvil Part II

Activity (28th July - 16th August)

Competitions and Events

Highlighted Competitions:

There are various competitions held by several EH pilots. Currently in the spotlight, we have the following competitions:

• TIE Corps in Battle : One battle each from TIE, XvT, and XWA will be assigned monthly. Organised by HA Plif
• Hammer Crossword: Every month a new crossword puzzle will be created with a specific theme and will be posted a Timed Test, organised by CPT Solohan
• Hammer: Crewmans Log: Each Monday (1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd) a prompt will be released around which you can write up a short fiction from the point of view of a member of the Hammers crew, organized by AD Phoenix Berkana.
• Just another patrol: For three weeks a writing prompt will be posted that will encourage pilots to draft and submit a story regarding the prompt, organized by VA Marenta.
• Design the Ship and Squadron Mascots: Create a graphic for a squadron which MUST include its patch and mascot in some capacity, organized by COL Genie

Be sure to check out all the running competitions. To know the competitions you are eligible for, under "Units Involved" it must be listed as "Entire TC", "ISD-II Hammer", "Wing I" or "Gamma Squadron".

Closing Comments

A big shout out to Colonel Genie who helped me get started with this report template, it is a big upgrade on my last report and will be the format we use for the future reporting. Gamma is growing much faster than I ever hoped possible! We are already half way to a full squadron and everyone who has arrived here has been warmly welcomed. I want Gamma to be a fun squadron that you can all call home. If you have any suggestions or ideas please come to me or Lieutenant Commander Kassal!
