BLURRED LINES #1

-"The man did what?" A startled Pryde replied after choking on hearing the news while drinking his up of coffee. He couldn't hide his laughter.

-"Exactly as I told you, Pryde" Araujo assured. "Stunned the kid 3 times" trying as hard as he could to hide a faint smile on his face. Internally, he was laughing hysterically.

He received a report about an incident involving a random junior officer (who seems to be too young to be on a ship or in anything else than primary school) with a rather desperately annoying conduct and Lt. Commander Scorel "Hopfot" Hayde. Someone you don't want to mess with. Indeed, quite a few of the "Alpharites" as some previous CMDR called them or "Penguins" as they're called now, are well known for their ruthlessness. Araujo himself has no wish to hide unpleasant truths most of the time, not even when dealing with his superiors, not after being stuck on his quarters during this journey.

Hopfot simply used his blaster on stun setting to do away with the guy and shot him, 3 times, and all Araujo and Pryde could do about this was to laugh.

Want to know the rest? for now, I'll submit it on the runons channel but later on, we'll use the new features of the site.

INTRO

  • Roster updates: Updated FG DM groups on Discord, MSE sheet update is still pending update which I plan to do when I get to run July's MSE, right after submitting this report.
  • Descrption update: updated info on EH site.Squadron description is now from both in-universe and RL.
  • Wiki update: in progress I've been working a lot on the information on our wiki site. It is still a WIP but at least we got the structure of the article after a research on RL SpecOps articles and air force squadrons. Proceeding to fill it. I really suggest you guys fill up your INPRs and wiki articles if you haven't done so. If you do not have wiki access send me the information while we manage to get you a working account if posssible.
  • WSR format: I took the time to build a brand new WSR format on a free onlne html wyswyg editor whose limited characters had me editing the report by pieces. Yes, I type, when I reach the limit I cut and paste the code in notepad++ and keep typing.
  • LT Ilios is still working on Embers so any testers that could help proviiding feedback are welcome.
  • Pryde is still our XO. As per command's orders all SQXOs are positioned in 2-1 while 3-1 will be for FLs. Therefore Pryde and switched positions. The FL will be a sort of 3rd in command. SQXOs will have roughly same access authority than CMDRs. Both are lacking a precise descrption on their roles but I do plan to have ones.
  • Welcome Ty Seerlan and former Alpha Drake Starfire into our unit! :D I'm happy with the current roster. I expect good things from you.
  • I think the TIE Fighter Sequel can wait for TFTC1.3 to be released and I think it will be released after some updates on XWAU5.5 Either way, maybe I can start programming some of the missions. I'm aiming to make of whatever the outcome of our runon is, a full campaign. I already begun by posting this short episode. So we need to work on the details on how we'll RP

@11-07 Submitted answers for timed test: July 2022 - Hammer Crossword 2

Administrative Tasks: [Mon Jul 11 2022] Submitted a new Alpha Squadron report.

Awards & Achievements: none.

Observation: My motivation increased as I watched the runons. When I watched Hopfot taking his storybuilding very serious I took the motivation I needed to go on with the project. Talking to Pryde and Horus did motivate me as well. There has been ups and downs but the two new recruits first activities, my reading of Inferno Squadron novel and Phoenix's great job motivating me to fly finally gave some results. There are external RL aspects, new gf, projects slowly taking shape so depression is fading and activity is coming back. Still very low income, but we do what we can do with what little we have. I think my fictions will reflect in SW terms what is going on IRL. I got something done with the release of this WSR/MSE. Thank you everybody for your patience and support. You have my gratitude and the EHTC has my loyalty.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Campaign Role Play.

    About the campaign project:

As you might know, we'll be flying cooperative missions hopefully for TFTC but if that doesnt work, we'll go for XWAU or BoP as plans "B" and "C".

Depending on the outcome of each mission (we might win or lose them) the next missions might change their context.

As special forces we might have the benefit of mission rehearsals, meaning we can fly the mission 2 times under what we believe would be the "real" scenario according to whatever data Intelligence can provide (which may or may not vary).

However, for the mission to be fully successful after rehearsals, we'll have to achieve a bigger score on the "real" deal. And we'll have just 3 waves on rehearsals. Fail there and you won't qualify for the mission. On the "real" deal you'll have just 1 wave. If 50% or more doesnt qualify, mission fails and story will change. If we are successful on the rehearsals but fail on the real mission, we'll fail eitherway and depending on how we fail, story will change.

  • Pazaak!: https://pazaak.parsely.io/join/KCEsca Pazaak is like Blackjack or 21, except the goal is 20 and you have to stay 20 or under. This is the mini-game that could be played on KOTOR iirc. Fun stuff. Thank VA Marenta for this.
  • Embers of the Empire mod for XWAU: LT Ilios' mod (campaign + shipset) is an amazing piece of work. Ilios is not only one of the TFTC devs but also an amazing guy and a very talented mission creator. I'll never cease to promote his work which can be downloaded here on the latest version that I'm aware of. He did what I originally wanted to do for XWA. I'll work on my own campaign inspired by his work. Let's support him penguins, he is one of us!
  • Star Wars Book List: As the site says "This is a simple list of all of the full-length Star Wars novels to date, in chronological order of when the stories take place, with the movies and TV shows also added for context. This list does not include most young readers' books or short novellas, or TV shows aimed at young children. Books whose stories overlap within the same timeline are listed in recommended reading order based on my own judgement. Release dates are for the US - dates and availability may vary in other countries". You can check this most useful list here: https://www.yodasdatapad.com/booklist.html. Bookmark it! I already did!!!
Update uniform, INPR and wiki character article: This goes for me as well. Each time you get promoted or receive an award you should update your uniform. Ask AD Phoenix Berkana for details while I post

STANDING ORDERS

  • Mission Review Guidelines: I thank you for flying compendium missions and reviewing them. It is important that we provide feedback and that we analyse each mission. I therefore propose a set of guidelines for grading and evaluating a mission with 5 topics. On each one I suggest we decide if we award it a point or no on each one (Y/N)

    1) Storyline: was the plot reasonable? was it interesting? were you provided enough information on it? did it provide enough messages to feel the immersion? did those in-flight messages give enough information? If you have 3 out of 5 or more possitive answers, then give the mission this point.

    2) Technical: bugs, details (well placed FGs on the map, event timing, etc) features like tricks, extra custom ships , use of hooks

    3) Operational/Tactical/Strategic: was it challenging for you as a pilot on dogfight? did you have to plan parts of the mission and bring your A-game on situational awareness ? or did you have to plan ahead the entire mission?

    4) Briefing/inflight messages/character development: was there a briefing extensive enough? good grammar? was there any character development on the in-flight messages? did commander briefings provide additional context? was there any voice acting present?

    5) Fun factor: was it too easy? too hard that it did stress you? too boring? or did you felt your adrenaline surge? was it too long? did you truly enjoy it?

  • Non-Flight Rople Play: Download and install Vassal Engine for a quick RPG between us: https://vassalengine.org/
  • Feedback: Questions, comments, ideas, suggestions or even complains can be sent to your FL, COL Horus Blackheart, your SQXO, Talons Pryde or to me, your CMDR, LC Alejandro Araujo. Also you can reach our COM, AD Phoenix Berkana.
  • Tactics: Practice your situational awareness each time you fly. Learn to find out what is going on as quick as possible under any circumstances.
  • Report your participation in competitions: as former Alpha CMDR LC Quincy Nelson said: "If you guys get on IRC (Discord) or do any other comps. Let me know. That way I can put it down. Because I am sure some of you are active in other things and I'm not aware of it".
  • Report any additional activity that isn't logged on your ATRs: Again, quoting LC Nelson: "If I missed some of your guys activity. Let me know. If you do something send it to me in an email (or Discord)".
  • Imperial University (IU) courses: out of all the courses, make sure you complete TCCORE. It is vital that we all understand proper Imperial procedures. you're welcome to complete the rest, naturally.
  • Activity Bar: Without exception (except me, for I have more strict requisites) as per TC guidelines, a pilot who doesn’t communicate after 30 days is considered AWOL and will be transferred to RSV. Likewise, a pilot on any active squadron (like Alpha) that doesn’t do any activity (flight/non-flight) for 60 days will be transferred to RSV as well. You have been warned pilots.
  • Primary Goals:Your primary goal here is to have fun with your favorite SW flight sims and some RP , trivia, art and fiction fun as well. We have a series of competitions going on for which you're more than welcome to participate.
COMMANDER'S ANALYSIS
There is a lot of information to absorb, granted but I have to make sure we are all on the same page. Actually, there is a lot to do and we need to get to work as a team. The narrative is an introduction for our campaign-based RP on TFTC. If you want to be there then communicate with me so I lean more about your in-universe character, the more you interact with me and your squadmates, the better I get to describe you in our story. Most of the standing orders will, well, remain valid but I might add others as time goes by. I am very pleased with the level of activity. Only 2 pilots had zero activity but actually all of you communicated with me. Some had a very fluent communication. Well done penguins! You inspire me to work!
