("I'll tell you what," Commander Vapen "Doc" Vanman says as he exits the briefing room and proceeds down the hallway. "That man can make even the most exciting news sound dull." Walking beside him, Captain Westric "Dav" Davalorn chuckles and his face takes on a displeased frown. "Your performance in this year's Imperial Storm competition has been adequate enough to secure victory for the Warrior," he says in his best General Frown impression. Doc simply sighs and shakes his head. "How are things in Theta?" Dav asks as they continue down the hall. "Figured out how to handle that fancy Defender?" "It's a lot, but I'm getting adjusted to all the new responsibilites and getting acquainted with the squadron," Doc responds. "I'm surprised they gave you command after that stunt you pulled with that Theta Escort Shuttle," Dav says nonchalantly. "WE pulled," Doc corrects. "WE. And if I remember correctly, it was YOUR idea to begin with." "Guilty as charged," Dav confirms. He stops next to his office and asks, "Meet up at the cantina later? Pretty sure you owe me a drink." "Yeah, yeah," Doc responds. He continues down the hall and calls over his shoulder, "See you there!" Dav enters the office and sits down at the data terminal to begin composing his next report.)
VICTORY! After a month of hard fought battles against the forces of the Hammer and the Challenge, the Warrior has emerged victorious in the Imperial Storm IV wargames! I personally congratulate each of you for your efforts in achieving this goal. I'd also like to thank our Commodore, Vice Admiral Marenta "Sus" Jean, on her steadfast leadership and dedication to the pilots and crew of the Warrior. The results of IS IV may have been very different without her at the helm. Commander Vapen Vanman has been appointed Commander of Theta Squadron. If you see Commander Vanman in the Warrior cantina, make sure to congratulate him and order a drink on his tab. We wish him the best of luck in his new role! With the transfer of Commander Vanman, I have selected Commander Alexandre “ossusplayz” Morgan to replace him as Rho Squadron Executive Officer. I look forward to working with him more closely to make Rho the best squadron in the fleet! In addition to a new XO, Commander Vanman's transfer has also opened up another Flight Leader position. We are now in need of two Flight Leaders. All interested pilots should send me a message or stop by my office to discuss the details of the position. Lieutenant Kevinbackroom has been transferred to the reserves to allow him to focus on his burgeoning music career. We hope to see him reassigned to active duty again in the near future. Sub-Lieutenants Varnin Goldsbane and Tiran Marr have been assigned to Rho 11 and Rho 14, respectively. Both pilots have quickly acclimated themselves and already received promotions to Lieutenant, along with Lieutenant Ayre! That's all the news I have for now. It appears that the protocol droid that was supposed to be assigned to the Commodore is either missing, or... elsewhere. Since the COM cannot do the job without a personal protocol droid, I am taking recommendations from the crew of the Warrior. Please draft up a resume of any protocol droids you know of on the ship that you think would be a stellar fit for the job. I am a sucker for droids with personality, so the more "engaging" the resume, the more likely that droid gets moved to the top of the stack. Any droids that make an impression are more likely to show up in any fiction, so the more detail, the better! Before VA Marenta's time as the Warrior Commodore, she used her faithful TIE Reaper, BESSIE, during a mission in which her com circuitry was corrupted and led to cascading and repetitive damage. Being the brilliant logistician she was, she decided to appropriate her vessel from Inferno Squadron and bring it with her to the ISDII Warrior. Unfortunately, it still has the bug of a strange frequency being transmitted into her ship. The messages are simply random 3, 4, and 5 letter combinations repeated for approximately 2 standard weeks before the letter combinations change again. In an effort to help figure out what the messages mean, Marenta has tasked the Warrior to make up phrases for the letter combinations and polling the fleet to determine which is the most likely. Every 2 weeks VA Marenta will generate 3, 4, and 5 random letter combinations and create a Google Form to allow personnel onboard ISDII Warrior to fill out with a time frame of 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, the responses will be put up in a poll where the Warrior members will vote on the responses provided. The members voting will NOT be able to see which phrase was submitted by which member. After a 2 week voting period, to keep the submissions along the same time period as the voting, VA Marenta will announce the winners. Each season will have 6 full rounds of entries/voting/results.
