REPORTING OFFICER: Major Adom "fr0Zen" Wietu, Squadron Commander

 (The R2D7 droid continues downloading and collating in his memory banks the voluminous accomplishments of the members of Rho Squadron during the previous 8 months.  Idly whistling, beeping, and chirping with satisfied tones, "Nix" - as he is affectionately called - stays largely motionless in the back right corner of the Rho Commander's office.  Occasionally, the oval at the top of his body considered to be his head swivels about 120 degrees and returns to its forward position - a cue Major Wietu understands to mean that the droid has encountered a particularly impressive moment for a Rho pilot stored within the vault of data tapes.

When the Squadron Commander hears the whirring sound of that motion, he glances over and smiles unseen by "Nix", but quickly returns to his composition on the terminal before him.

The Flight Deck Mechanic Mix, however, notes every one of these moments, and with the practice of a valued friendship pours Wietu another shot of Chalquilla at each one - without concern for whatever typing errors may occur due to mounting inebriation for the Pantoran opposite him at the desk. He notes how little the Commander seems to be typing - with heavy emphasis occasionally on the STRIKE key telling the mechanic that the Commander has deleted every word again.  Was that an hour's effort this time? Perhaps just the last 30 minutes? 'He just did it again', thinks Mix.

As the night stretches to the early hours before dawn, Major Wietu concludes composing his newest message to the Squadron's pilots on the terminal, and with a dip in his head as he closes his eyes, the Rho Commander confirms the Send action.)

Greetings, as per ever, my Comrades in Black.

I have kept a deeply personal moment from you for far too long.  And as your very lives often depend on my certainty in orders - my clarity of decision - I cannot keep this from you any longer.  I feel blessed that my conscience will not be burdened by something disastrous that may have occurred in the last 3 months due to my divided and distracted focus.

My last visit to the homeworld of Pantora included a rare, clear, and undeniable life changing moment.  I have never been a spiritual person, and I still do not claim to be one, despite what I am about to share.

I experienced something that, after consultation with holy people who were loath to allow me into their temples for lack of prior reverence, I must conclude would be generally considered to be an "Omen."  Perhaps a vision.  Perhaps a dream that I should forget - but I cannot and will not brush it away as such.  

Not with your lives in the balance.

I have a deeply held conviction since that experience that the time has come for me to step down from my current duties as your Squadron Commander and rejoin your ranks as a Flight Member. 

I have deleted this message something like twelve times in the attempt to compose it but I am out of time and must let this draft stand. 

I will no longer be your Squadron Commander as of the first day of the Fourth Month of this year's Imperial Calendar.  I have already arranged this change with our Fleet Command; and I have planned this with time to be sure that I can prepare the next Commander properly before any version of the disaster I saw in my vision can come to pass.  I cannot be this unit's Commander after the First day of the next Month - or else I just might make a command mistake that costs you, your families, and this fleet of all the blessings you honor us all with, in your daily service to our future Emperor.

Therefore, be it ordered by Fleet Command, that as of the First Day of the Fourth Month of this year's Imperial Calendar, Flight Leader Commander Westric Davalorn will be stepping forward in my place.

To express my personal and deepest thanks to each and every one of you, expect that I will be arranging direct, private time with all of you to ensure that your voice is heard in our transition - and that I may properly express what you have meant to me during this time - my first ever stint in Command.

Until a new Emperor is seated and the Rebellion is forever crushed!

• The bit above makes for a better story, but the real deal is that I know Rho deserves someone with more space to lead than I have currently - as my work duties begin to pick up during what is a critical year for my company.  
• Where I knew without any doubt that I was going to need to take a step back was the day I realized it had been a month since my previous report on 01.06.2022.  I had thoroughly enjoyed investing extra effort in making these fun - and I found myself out of space to continue doing so.  I was sad to see I had missed a whole month of updating everyone in the fleet about all the awesome things Rho had going on.
• That .. and how I have not ensured we update our Banner to reflect that we are no longer the TCCOM's escort squadron. My apologies for sure are due to Major Honsou and Tempest Squadron.
• I was fortunate to have the former Rho CMDR AceTiePilot provide me with a thorough continuity plan and extensive support; I look forward to doing so with Davalorn and will be starting that work this week as we move towards the transition.

• And all of the Rho folks deserve to enjoy our success so far in the Chalquilla cup - having won five games to only one loss.  I expect we will continue to do VERY well in this event.

• It has truly been great to get LCM Alexandre 'ossusplayz' Morgan flying competitively with us for the Chalquilla cup.  Keep up the great work! 
• If you made it this far, please remember to note that the accomplishments above needed to be shared - but they do represent two full months of activity for Rho pilots since I was last able to file a report. I said that way up there - but I better say it here again.
• Obviously the new version of the TC website is out - so I hope we'll hear news again about Project Sovereign - the salary and personal inventory system - again soon.
• There's been so much going on even as I have faded further away that I am endlessly proud of what this crew has built together over the last several months.  Remember always - it was NOT me, this has been done by YOU.

Aside from the interpersonal direct checks I will be doing for each pilot as part of this transition, expect that I will have one final report at the end of this month, wherein I hope to fully introduce and pass the leadership over to CM Westric Davalorn, and close this time on a positive note to counter the heaviness of this message.
