November is here and with it comes the end of Raise the Flag. I would like to congratulate the Challenge for winning the Competition, as well as Tempest for topping the squadron charts. Of course, special call out to Phalk both for making it to the #1 pilot spot as well as the race we had to the finish.

A bit closer to home now, big congratulations to the Hammer and especially the core team who were there every day chipping away and documenting all our mishaps through the Meme Historians. And of course, the Lambda squadron, we kicked ass with 9 out 12 registering points and constantly pushing.

In other news, congratulations to Wookiee for making it to the rank of Commander! We also have two new Lambdas. Merlin has recently joined the Emperor's Hammer ranks, while Aisling has transferred to Lambda from Inferno.

Due to popular demand, the Hammer Tour of Duty will continue. Just give Phoenix and I some time to get our bearings. We are glad everyone is enjoying it and it will even give the chance to several of our squadrons to earn citations!

Fleet Memoirs - Chapter #1: Inspection

Aboard the Warrior...

It was 07:00 Standard Coruscant time. His alarm went off. Captain Adom 'fr0Zen' Wietu looked at his watch and groaned. He jumped up from his bunk bed. He was still in his papa palpatine pijamas. A not-so-well kept secret. His uniform was hanging, freshly ironed, delivered by LT Gendarf, who worked in the Warrior's Laundry Department. He has keys to every quarter aboard the Warrior. Perhaps someone should check his security clearance? Frozen unhooked the uniform, removed it from the nylon bag and began to put it on. It was inspection day today. At 08:00 hours, High Admiral Mordechi Wolfe - the newly appointed WarCOM - was coming in for inspection.

By 07:30, Frozen was at the Rho quarters. The entire squadron was standing by the side of their beds, six double beds on each side. The top bed was always occupied by an elder pilot, while the bottom one by a rookie. The rookie stood at the front left, while the vet stood behind him by the side of the bed. And yet, you knew that both beds were prepped by the newbie for inspection. The room was perfectly lit, the floors shining clean.

'Attention!', uttered the XO, LCM Westric Davalorn.
'At ease pilots', Frozen quickly responded.

He walked up and down the corridor, everything looked in pristine condition. All were cleanly shaven, boots boasting a perfect black and the uniforms freshly ironed.

Meanwhile, aboard the Hammer...

Lambda was having its own preparation for inspection. LT Dillshize was still sitting at the bed, devouring some sardines and washing them down with some Imperial stout. His immense devalorian body weight created a 'sinkhole' on the mattress and the springs underneath were clearly hurting. One wondered if the bed was reinforced. Maveric stood upfront and was leaning on the bed, staring in no specific direction through his sunglasses. The Baron, Corran and Howler were eating nuts and washing them down with some cognac. Konig and Aisling were sharing a joke, Konig had a tiny webcam strapped to the side of his head. Solohan was treating himself to a ham and zucchini sandwich, but a hasty bite went wrong, squeezing out the green juice splattering around his lips and partially onto his freshly washed uniform.

Genie walked in, 'Attention!' bellowed Xye. Corran attempted to pull the sheets and swiftly covered the cognac. Solohan froze in place, everyone else stood in attention, except Dillshize who just carried on sitting on the bed and making those sardines disappear down his throat. Genie grabbed the zucchini sandwich right out of the Ewok’s mouth, he took a bite 'hmm, not half bad'. He walked through the main corridor, Xye walked behind him and to his right. 'At ease pilots'. He glanced at Dillshize, turned to exchange a look with Xye. He simply sighed. 'Where is Wookie and Merlin?', 'Still on patrol' Xye swiftly replied.

'So, as you are all very aware already, today we have an inspection, followed by a big announcement at the auditorium aboard the Warrior. Be ready and be sharp, it is quite unusual to be called into the auditorium like that. And also, for the love of Sith, at least pretend you care that you are being inspected. I will not be present at the inspection itself. I will meet you in the auditorium. Xye will lead the squad till then. Pretend that you care about what Phoenix thinks of you.'' Dillshize was still sitting on the bed drinking his beer. Genie threw the zucchini sandwich and hit Dills right on the left horn. 'I am always very proud of you guys but lately you’ve been testing me.' Genie leaned towards Xye and whispered, 'Xye, please, do keep that Ewok away from Phoenix'.

Genie went for the exit, 'oh and Corran, you can continue drinking just make it go away come the inspection time' he said as he swiftly continued to walk towards the door.

It was now 08:00, the newly appointed WarCOM, High Admiral Mordechi Wolfe walked into the Rho quarters, right behind him was Frozen to his left and to his right, General Gilbert H. Frown.

'Attention!', uttered the XO, LCM Westric Davalorn.
'At ease pilots', said Mordechi.

He paced up and down barely giving everything a second look, and looking very pleased with himself. He smiled 'excellent Rho, you are an example to this fleet. Continue to make the Warrior proud!'
'Frozen?',
'Sir?'' responded Frozen.
'Be sure to bring your squadron on time at the auditorium.'
'Of course sir! Any idea what this is about sir?' questioned Frozen.
'No idea captain.', he responded half-convincingly.

Phoenix walked into the Lambda chamber, followed by Lieutenant Colonel Narven Task.

'Attention!' Xye hastily ordered Lambda.
'At ease pilots', said Phoenix as he stormed in.

The room was clean, the beds straightened, but their uniforms were somewhat scruffy-looking. He gave a look at Xye. He sighed.
'LT Maverick', said Phoenix.
'Sir?' Maverick swiftly responded, still wearing his sunglasses.
'Please take your laser rifle and disassemble it on your bed.'
'At once sir!'
He took his rifle and without skipping a beat, he had all the parts laid down on the bed faster than a thirsty devalorian (Dillshize) could sit down and have a beer in his hand. 'Damn it Maverick, how can you see through those glasses?' Phoenix said without waiting for an answer. 'Excellent, well done. Please put it back together now.'

'All good Captain Xye. Please ensure they are all on the auditorium on time' Phoenix said and made his way towards the quarters exit. As Phoenix walked past Solohan, he took out a zucchini sandwich out of nowhere but before he could take a bite, Phoenix turned at the door and grabbed that sandwich right out of his mouth. The Ewok grabbed his hand and bit his little finger, which caused Phoenix to start bleeding profusely. 'Give me the medikit from the cupboard!' Xye anxiously shouted to Aisling. He swiftly complied. Xye opened the medikit and pulled out a fresh bandage and started to wrap it around Phoenix's left hand. Solohan unphased took another sandwich and started eating.
