The Lambda class shuttle Hammers Wrath arced slowly towards the formation of ships orbiting planets in the distance. Already his new command, the Imperial class Star Destroyer Hammer filled the shuttles view screens with its imposing bulk. Surrounding it were a number of smaller support vessels almost insignificant in comparison. The comm unit crackled to life, “Hammer to Hammers Wrath, transmit clearance codes immediately on this channel.” The customary challenge had been expected and a young Lieutenant Task, rumoured to be a distant relation of the Major, sat at the conn glanced quickly over his shoulder at Phoenix and submitted the requisite clearance codes. A flight of TIE Defenders of Beta Squadron dropped into view off the port side of the shuttle as they began their final run towards the main hangar bay of the Hammer where they had moments ago been cleared to dock. Phoenix let us mind wander in briefly, it had been quite a week since his appointment as Commodore of the Hammer had been approved, paperwork had already begun piling up on his datapad, transfers, promotions, medals and more requiring his immediate attention. It was quite a change from commanding Thunder but one he was immensely looking forward to. The shuttle rose slowly into the hangar bay, popping through the magcon field that held the atmosphere within the cavernous bay before Lieutenant Task cut in the repulsors and glided effortlessly to the demarcated landing spot just as rows of storm troopers and officers trooped into the bay. The shuttle landed with a metallic clank and the hiss of hydraulics as it settled onto its landing struts, a larger hiss followed as the boarding ramp descended from the crafts underside. Gathering his thoughts Phoenix nodded to the young Lieutenant and turned to descend the ramp and begin his new command. | ||||||||||||

Greetings pilots of the Hammer! Last week I issued a brief welcome note as I was still getting my feet under my new desk, attempting to pick the lock on HA Woodys safe and also discern where our new Captain Genie hid all the booze. Sadly whilst I have struck out on the last two items on that list, I have managed to get access to all the ship evaluation files and even managed to make a couple of medal and promotion recommendations - so progress! As I mentioned in my last note, my immediate goals were to spin up the Trivia for the Hammered competition, and the Hammer Patch competition. I am pleased to say we had some good participation levels on the trivia and I've already been sent a number of patches, so if you fancy yourself a budding artist please send me a patch submission! Also on my to do list is the ramping up of some gaming leagues aboard the ship, something I have been chatting to my Commanders about as well as boosting our online presence - updating the wiki and the like. All of these are ongoing and my task for this week. I hope you enjoy the new report format, and I will update you all on my progress in the coming week as we get some additional competitions launched.
