ISDII Challenge Report # 0 (2001-09-09)

This report was submitted by RA Manitsas

Greetings to BGCOM Adrenaline and the pilots of the ISD Challenge,

Take note that I will be on leave for one month, starting September 18. My flight for Greece leaves on September 19 and I return October 17. Now that WC/GN Darklord is returning to duty on Monday, he will be taking over as Acting COM starting on September 19. This has important implications for the Challenge in Exercise...

CANTINA RUN

The first order of business is for everyone on the ship to participate in Exercise Cantina Run #4. We did fairly poorly in #3, and I know we have enough talent to win this one. Unlike Cantina Runs 1 and 2, we cannot count on our large number of pilots to work to our advantage. We can win based only on PARTICIPATION and QUALITY. Therefore, if you can put our some quality work, you could win an Iron Star-GOLD ribbon or wings, for each of the four sections. If you can't make a quality submission, then go for BARE BONES. We get a point for each 10% participation up to 100%, but no points for less than 40%.

The rules are very important to keep in mind, as submissions that don't meet the requirements could be negated. Also remember that I will be on leave starting September 18, so all submissions to the squadron commanders must be in WC/GN Darklord's mailbox with enough time for him to submit the results to Adrenaline. He must receive them no later than September 21, so he can get them in by September 22. Don't send them to me, or else they will sit unread until I return to duty on October 18.

COMMENDATION OF LOYALTY AWARDS

The coveted CoL, which is only awarded twice each year, goes to Challenge pilots GN Darklord, MAJ Locke of Tempest, COL Mairin Astoris of Tornado, and CM Sephiroth (long time Challenge Ace) of Tempest. Congratulations!

ISD CHALLENGE SICKBAY

I want to also remind all pilots that DOC Locke is here to attend to your needs whenever you have a problem that could benefit from a patient ear, but for which you'd like help OUTSIDE of the chain of command. I have already stated that I intend to have Locke promoted to a LCM within the Fleet Medical Corps as soon as the FMC reorganization is complete.

The results of the Challenge Sickbay Humor Contest are:

First Place Winner: (Iron Star - Silver Ribbon)
CM Triji Boliv and LCM Chris McCollum for their "Locke vs Locke Wars"
Second Place Winner: (Iron Star - Bronze Ribbon)
CPT Calvin Nunb for the "Random IRC Quotes"

ISD CHALLENGE ACE TITLE

After having held the position for a long time undisputed, CM Sephiroth has been dethroned by CM Nathan Summers! Who would have thought? Will Summers be able to keep his title? Will Seph return to take the title? We shall see...

FLAG OFFICERS

I earned a Letter of Achievement for having my article on the Fleet Medical Corps published in the Dark Sentinel #77 and also in EH Vogue #3. I graduated both the AOL Instant messenger and Computer Basics IWATS courses. GN Darklord will be returning from leave on Monday, September 10. We both thank MAJ Locke for an excellent job as Acting WC.

CYCLONE

CMDR/CPT Crovax started the "Disasteroids Comp" on August 18, which was due to end on August 27. That was the last time I received a report!

INFERNO

Their competition with Thunder is coming up soon. LT Dujold has just been promoted to Flight Leader of Flight 3. Congratulations!

TEMPEST

Tempest had 9 of 9 pilots submit a TFR for their competition against Eta of the ISD Colossus with FREE-TIE 24 in the first match of the Tempest Campaign II with a squadron average of 26,132!

THUNDER

The Iron Star - Bronze Ribbon has been awarded to CMDR/MAJ Beef for 3rd place in FCHG Battle creation competition (TIE). Thunder is flying TC-TIE #34 against Psi Squadron, with TFRs due tomorrow. Good luck guys! CMDR Beef also is running a weekly quiz and a run-on story.

TORNADO

COL Mairin Astoris returned from leave last week, and is looking for the next squadron to challenge. Flight Leader Badlan was recently promoted.

TYPHOON

CMDR/CM Triji Boliv has extended his leave with LCM Richlet in charge, because of a computer problem which could last up to 3 weeks. Congrats to Typhoon squadron for defeating Yod Squadron with 75% participation! Great work guys!
