Sin Squadron
SIN WEEKLY SQUADRON REPORT #39
SIN CMDR: LC Hav Antiel
REPORT DATE: 26 May 2018
SQUADRON COMMANDER'S CORNER
It's nearly time to Raise the Flag, Sinners!

In a few days, we're going to receive details for this year's TC-wide wargames competition. Sin Squadron has a history of strong participation in RtF:
  • 2014: 2nd place (2,350 points)
  • 2015: 2nd place (2,511 points)
  • 2016: 7th place (465 points)
  • 2017: 5th place (818 points)
Theta has been the squad to beat the last four years (and potentially longer; my sources only go back as far as 2014). For 2018, I hope that Sin can give them a run for their money.

Theta has averaged 3573.25 points in the last four RtF competitions (2947.67 if you omit their massive 5450 points haul in 2016). If we're going to have a shot at being #1, we should aim for 3000+ points. With eight pilots on the roster, that works out to 375 points per pilot. Of course, that's a lot of flying. In fact, 375 points would have put you in or near the top 10 pilots in the competition the last four years (barring 2016, where 375 was only good for 13th. What was going on that year?).

I don't expect 375 point from each of you, Sinners, but I do hope you'll do your part. I'll be reaching out privately to each of you this week to talk strategy. In the mean time, rest up and get ready!

COMPETITIONS

I will summarize competitions that apply to Sin in this section, but you should always check the Competitions Center and Combat Center for full details on all competitions.

  • Project 659
Each month, fly the SP battles indicated in the Sin Weekly Squadron Report and earn bonus points for high scores and fastest submissions.

  • TIE Corps on Patrol
For 2018, TCoP is moving to every other week. VA Pete Mitchell is taking the TCoP helm this year, so please note that BSF emails/pilot files will be due by 5 pm Pacific/8 pm Eastern/1 am London one every other Monday starting January 15.

  • TIE Corps Pilot League
Like TCoP, the Pilot League is a single-player comp taking place every other week. The difference here is that pilots have a rolling handicap. Each round, the pilot with the highest handicap score (expressed as a percentage of the high score) in each platform will earn 4 points. The next highest score will earn 3, the next highest 2, and all other submissions will earn 1. If the winning pilot in a platform also beat the high score (without the handicap added), that pilot will earn 5 points for that platform. There are more details about the handicap calculations on the competitions page, but needless to say, I'm very excited about this one!

  • Imperial Storm - A New Hope
This is the turn-based map campaign that the WARDs have been working on for some time. Battle teams led by the Warrior, Hammer, and TCCS battle for dominance over systems on the map. Be on the look out for SP and MP assignments, pilots.

  • TIE Corps on Recon
Submit a screenshot each week from one of Star Conflict's multiplayer game modes (Domination, Beacon Hunt, PvE, Team Battle, and Combat Recon). Iron Stars are awarded weekly and monthly based on unique criteria for each game mode.

  • TIE Corps vs AI
Submit a screenshot each week from Star Conflict's Player vs. AI modes. Iron Stars are awarded weekly and monthly based on unique criteria for each game mode.

  • Wing II Commander's Escort Flight / Warrior Commodore's Escort Flight
These are MP and SP versions of the same comp: fly enough missions to rank among the top four on the Warrior for the month to earn points. Iron Stars are awarded to the top four every month with a quarterly bonus. For the Commodore's Escort Flight, LoCs and LoSs are summed for the total.
PROJECT 659
Let's keep earning those Squadron Citations, Sinners. Every month, I'll announce a battle for TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, and X-Wing Alliance. Your mission is to fly those battles before the end of the month.

Every battle BSF earns you one point; the first pilot to submit the BSF for each assigned battle earns a bonus point, and additional bonus points are awarded for ?80% of the existing high score and a further bonus point if you beat the high score. I'll keep track of points and award IS-BWs for every 5 points and IS-SWs for every 20 points.

CURRENT STANDINGS
Pilot Battles Bonus Points
CPT Rando 6 14 (fastest submission x6, 80% x5, high score x3) 20

With 20 points, CPT Rando has earned the first IS-SW of Project 659!
