{SALUTE}
Greetings Wing XX and the rest of the Avenger Task Force. Today I present you with the 30th Wing XX weekly report which make a total of 30 from me since opening.
And here weee goo…..
A little added extra to this weeks report. A history of the Saturday Night Training Competition honoring its official return to the TIE Corps.
Believe it or not, the SNT got its beginnings about 2 and a half years ago. I was a Flight Leader in Crusader Squadron, Flight II to be exact. Jeff "Tiger" Loruss at the time was Flight III Leader, Crusader Commander was Shups and our glorious Grand Master Firefox was our Wing Commander. Crusader at this time was a well-rounded and active squadron, to keep up with the participation in my Flight I had set up a training session one day a week. After a couple successful weeks Tiger approached me about making it available for the entire squadron. After approval from Shups the Training session was for the whole squadron and remained just as successful. To get a break Tiger and I decided to alternate hosting between us. Now by this time Firefox and Shups transferred over to the SSD Avenger and then a couple days later so did Tiger and I. The Training Session soon became a night of flying for the entire Avenger. Word got around and pilots from other Wings would stop in to see what the session was like. Since we saw an interest from other Wing members WC Shups approached us with a proposal to get the session made official by the COO. The COO approved the Competition and it became known as Thursday Night Training. Now bare in mind that the only other Multiplayer competition really was the Outter Rim War every Saturday night. For those who were not around at that time it was a weekly melee competition on IRC between the EH and the RS. Also realize that the only time a LoC was awarded was from a win at ORW. The LoC was not a popular medal for most. TNT on the other hand was launchedand opened another oppurtunity for LoCs to be awarded. At first a LoC was awarded for every two wins and the primary bases for this comp was training for pilots and also recognition for the Avenger. Soon the ASF created an identicle competition and giving each pilot a LoC for 1 win, the TNT soon followed suit. The TNT went on for a long while and was the most popular competition, sometimes 35 or more matches were reported. One day a new COO was appointed and he made some new changes to all the official MP comps. The now #EHCOC was set up forcing all sponsored competitions to be held in a one single channel with a designated bot. The ATF Flag staff decided after extensive discussion to withdraw the TNT from the official list. The reasoning for this was very complicated and it was in the best interest for the competition at the time. TNT became a DB sponsored competition were CoF’s (DB’s version of the LoC) were awarded to the winners. TNT did not due well as a DB competition and after several months faded out. Recently Tiger and I discussed bringing back the TNT and got it officially approved by the current COO. We renamed it SNT and it will be a great success again, hopefully becoming as successful as TNT in the future. SNT is a very significant part of ATF History. It was one of the first, or even the first official Inner EH competitions to award the LoC and it promoted the growth and popularity of the SSD Avenger.
