Yod Report # 30 (2002-01-11)

Lieutenant Colonel Halcyon reporting in for Yod Squadron 01.11.02

Fleet News:
  • For those of you who use IRC, and use unknown scripts, the SO asks that you stop using them, since it is possible it can damage not only your computer but others as well.
  • Another reminder about mission-skipping. Only do so IF you cannot complete the mission because of some in-game bug, not because of piloting skill. You must also report the bug by using the bug-submission form
  • Prelude to Andevia-The Competition has started. It is open to ALL members of the EH, and there are a ton of events to participate in. Please cc myself on any and all submissions, so that I can see your activity. The site can be found here.
  • FCHG Competition #2 has ended. There were only 4 submissions, so congrats go to LCM Talas (1st place, TIE), LCM Dujhod (2nd place, TIE), LCM Kitten-claw and LC Halcyon (1st place, XvT) and MAJ Roguewing (1st place, XWA).
  • The XO, SA Kawolski has resigned. The new XO is SA Astatine (former TO and Yod CMDR), so congrats go out to him.
Wing News:
  • Welcome back to the wing (and Teth) the incomprable LC Mini Minkus (now, now, groaning won't help any :P). We are currently awaiting Mini to piss off a few WC for our next wing comp...heh :P
  • The last round of the Mascto Power Battles is the TIE round, run by our very own COL Reaper. You are to fly TIE-125 by January 17th and send it to Reaper. We ARE a TIE wing, so get out there and lets wing this thing!!
  • Zayin vs. Kaph and Yod vs. Lamed is in full swing. Go out and bet on who you think will win :P
  • The Commendation of Loyalty awards are out. These are awarded only twice a year on the anniversary of the EH and GA Ronin's birthday. Congrats go out to CPT Nurel Turr (Zayin), LCM Kitten-claw (Yod), LT Philo (Yod) and our cuddly WC, COL Reaper :P Congrats everyone!
Squadron News/Orders:
  • We are currently in competition with Lamed squadron. You are to fly FTIE-181 and send it to me by January 12th. Let's start the new year off with a BANG!
  • Also, please participate in the Mascot Power Battles. So far, only myself, KC and Philo have been participating for the squadron. We are a TIE wing, so none of you have an excuse not to participate!
  • We have lost 2 pilots this past week. Firstly, MAJ Jonathen has asked to be placed back in the reserves. He has been in the TC for quite a few years now, and it just isn't the same anymore, but there shall always be a place here for you Jon. Also, at what will come to a surprse to all of you, LCM Kitten-claw has asked to be placed in the reserves as well. RL has crept up on him, so he has asked for a break. He WILL be back though :) KC has been the most active pilot in this wing, and he shall be missed. You're fighter will be waiting for you. COL Reaper, KC had asked to be removed from the Wing IV egroups, so unless he changes his mind, can you please remove him. Thankyou.
  • Like you've read above, a couple of Yod members made a XvT battle, and according to the CA:TAC, VA Marcin Szydowlski, it is the best XvT battle made for the EH...so go fly!! :D We also got a few medals for our effort, so yay for shiny things!! :P
  • I will be choosing a new Flight Leader to take over KC's spot very soon, so look out for that too.
  • Hopefully, I will be able to fully convince an old friend of mine from Praetorian to join Yod from the reserves, but everyone else, go out and recruit!! We are down to 8 members, and may become lighter after the comp with Lamed (and that is a threat so take it seriously).
