BoP patches

Just as with the XvT patches last week, all BoP missions have now been converted to the new patch system. That means you should preferably remove your current BoP installation, reinstall the game, and download the new EHSP for BoP and install that. You should also delete your old BAT patches for BoP as they might cause conflicts with the new patches or patch installer.

New EHSP Released!

The Emperor\'s Hammer Ship Patcher (EHSP) provides a single utility to install and uninstall Emperor\'s Hammer patches in TIE Fighter \'95 (and CD*), X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, Balance of Power or X-Wing Alliance (if installed). It provides easier use of the patches and checks if required elements are available and for possible (slot) conflicts between patches.

This new Installer does NOT work with the old .bat patches. The new format patches are available at the new Patch Archive on this site.

Currently only X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter is available (because of updates that need to be made to battles, the database and the patches) but expect the other platforms to be supported very soon!

TCSes wanted

I\'m getting tired of seeing the queue of unreleased battles every time I log into the TAC site. Therefore, I\'m opening up the doors for ppl who want a shot at a TCS slot.
Bonuses for you: chances to get your hands on some nice medals, a chance to fly the missions before the enjoyable bugs get removed, and a nice -TCS addition to your IDline.
Requirements: must have passed/be willing to pass IWATS MCBS (unless you have the old TACS course, which will do too), be willing to fly a battle within a 2-week time limit and writing up a nice report about it.
Interested? Send an email to your friendly neighbourhood TAC

IWATS Online

I am very happy to announce that IWATS is now back online, though in a limited fashion. Thanks to the help of LC Zosite Styles, IWATS is currently located here:

http://iwats.isdchallenge.org

There are only a few courses online right now, but I am working very hard to continue to bring them all back up. Keep in mind many of them may be up only temporary due to the EH Training Office future plans to absorb many of the IWATS courses into a central EH Academy. For now however, you are free to take these courses here.

If you have any problems at all with the website or an exam, please let me know and I\'ll fix it as soon as I can.

The TIE Corps Admiralty Board is looking for members willing to apply for the position of Combat Operations Officer (COO).

The Combat Operations Officer is in charge of all multiplayer activities throughout the TIE Corps and is responsible for organising multiplayer events both within the TIE Corps and with other outside organisations and clubs. COO's primary duties are coordination of multiplayer pilots, expanding mutliplayer activities and approving multiplayer-oriented awards. Combat Operations Officer is part of the Admiralty Board and as such starts from the rank of Rear Admiral, and may be promoted up to Fleet Admiral.

We are looking for WILLING members, who shall stay in the position for at least a full Tour of Duty (6 months) and hopefully much longer.

This position is not only vital to the TIE Corps, but it also grants the chance of being awarded with the highest merit medals.

Don't wait, apply right away to Fleet Admiral Jarek La'an (thisisquitealongaddress@yahoo.com) !

Flayer CMDR open for applications

(On behalf of SubWC)

The position is officially open for applications, Corps-wide. At minimum, you must be a Lieutenant, and have passed Squadron Management (any version, preferably if an older version, refreshing with the latest SM when it comes available) or be able to take the exam as soon as the new TIE Corps Academy is brought online.

This position is a 6 month Tour of Duty commitment, so only those serious about doing the work that the job entails should apply. This Wing has already seen commanders go because of their inability to meet their commitments, and I want that trend to stop here.

Applications can be e-mailed to me at tc.milesprower@gmail.com. If the successful applicant is from the Reserves, they will be directly transferred upon the TCCOM\'s approval.

If the successful applicant is transferring from another active squadron, the procedure goes as followed (adjusted from the SM/3 Notes):

1. The applicant requests the transfer first from their own Commander by e-mail.

2. If approved, the applicant should send a transfer request e-mail to their Commander, CCing their own Wing Commander and myself.

3. I will reply to all on the transfer request, and CC to the TCCOM

4. The TCCOM will then approve the transfer.

Sad news from the FCHG front

08 February, 2009 18:54

Today is a sad day indeed. After the FCHG restructure I proposed a while back, COL Brucmack was promoted to Imperator, the highest FCHG rank attainable. Today, after a certain unnamed commander of Tempest squadron who shall rename nameless, acquired some more high scores, COL Brucmack fell so many points, he was demoted back to Templar, which means we lost our one and only Imperator. Shame on you, he-who-shall-remain-nameless !

Some of you will be getting a lot of BSF mauils. Some will even get multiple mails for the same pilotfile. That\'s no problem, just me testing/debugging stuff.

Today, after 676,773 mysql queries and 145 megs of data, all the flight records were restored. That means battles/missions flown and high scores are now up to date (except for stuff flown after Kaplooey Day, that will be added in a wee bit). That means in a short while, I'll be recalculating FCHG counts as well, to finish up repairs on records.

It also means the squadron battle boards are now fully operational. Go hunt some citations, people!
