It's a shame that you don't get to fly the K-Wing yourself. The battle's a little repetitive but solid.

My hundred and eleventh battle in the TIE Corps.

Another example of how an otherwise excellent battle, goes to spoil in the last mission. The plotline here is well written, the briefings are nice and as the campaign progresses, missions are fun, engaging and with a sense of realism. Until you reach the dreaded last mission. The technical craftmanship shown in previous missions goes down the drain when your supporting GUNs fail to disable or sink a shieldless CRS which inevitably bugs out every time, thus failing the mission. And although the T/A was perfect for the whole dogfighting, player HAS to assume the role of a bomber, and start the mission ahead of the synchronized plan, otherwise there will be no time to kill that CRS. A mess in programming which leads to frustration, after 20 minutes of noticing there is one missing enemy capital ship, and the underperforming GUNs with just a standard load of rockets are unable to bring 6 capital ships. Sad to see this, because ruins the whole experience.

Not a bad set of missions during this battle. The story line was a little bit different, nothing to really write home about tho. The only 'bug' I found was in the final mission constantly asking for me to 'press space to enter hangar' even tho I was no where near a friendly cap ship.

Wait times were obnoxious. Missions 6 and 7 are nearly identical. Not sure why I have to blow up a friendly ATR in the last mission. Maybe if I'd paid more attention in the briefings I'd know, but the in-flight messages didn't explain much.

This is one of the wierdest battles I have ever flown. It has a plot... which makes no sense. Ships that are supposed to be "critical craft" get blown away and nothing happens, craft fly into eachother, and the K-Wings, while amusing, are a totally pointless additon to the battle. I can understand making a battle to use a new patch... but please make something with a realistic plot next time.

This was a very enjoyable battle, the storyline was very good. I couldn't stop to fly before I didn't finished that one. The missions have no visible bugs. If you look for a recommended XvT Battle, I can say, take this one. It may be a bit easy from time to time but it is still a great plot and hunting down K-Wings is something you cant do often.

During the final mission I kept getting the message 'press space to enter hangar' even tho I was nowhere near a friendly capital ship. Not game breaking, but annoying none-the-less.

Description
-----------
A battle about the ISD Challenge, having a few probs with an Interdictor and a new Rebel fighter.

Plotline
--------

** Situation

The Interdictor Fairchild has received a new gravity well projection system. Together with the
ISD Challenge, it is making a testrun.

** Mission 1

While the Interdictor starts the testrun, Inferno and Tempest fly patrol. The system has a
malfunction and can't shut down. A C-3 Passenger Liner of Gallandro Tours and three freighters
(Corporate Division) are pulled out of hyperspace. One of the Freighters carrying Hammer Radio
    is damaged.
But that’s not all, a Rebel Nebulon-B frigate and Dreadnaught are also pulled out and attack the
Interdictor to escape. Both ships and their escorts need to be destroyed.

** Mission 2

The damaged freighter needs to be repaired. The Challenge is sending a transport, while Inferno
and Tempest are flying patrol. The Interdictor's systems need to cool down before the projectors
can be shut down. Therefore, the Challenge has recalled the VSD Formidable for support. In the
meantime, two Rebel Cruisers and an Escor Carrier drop out of hyperspace. It seems the frigate and
Dreadnaught were part of a small Task Force and their friends have come looking for them. Both
enemy ships immediately launch fighters, and surprise surprise, it is a new fighter. The Cruisers
    are equipped with K-wings.
The Emperor's Hammer wants to get some intel on this new fighter and orders Tempest to disable the
    enemy ships.

** Mission 3

With the enemy ships disabled, we're now dispatching transports to board them, and retrieve information
    on the K-wing starfighter.
Just to be on the safe side, the BGCOM has called for the Colossus, Immortal and Relentless to join us.
They are now en route and will arrive shortly.

** Mission 4

After retrieving the most important information, the enemy warships were towed to a nearby starbase. The
base has a large contingent of troops standing by to strip the enemy cruisers of all valuable technology
and parts. Transports will deliver the troops and ferry the tech and parts over to the Challenge.

** Mission 5

Thanks to intel's tracking device, the Challenge has had no problem finding the Muurian transport with the
K-wing plans. The Challenge has dropped out of hyperspace in pursuit, with the Interdictor Harpax II close
behind to prevent the enemy's escape...

** Mission 6

After a thorough search of the Legacy V, Intel slicers managed to come up with a set of hyperspace coordinates.
As we are unsure what is out there, a single flight of advanced scouts will be sent to do some recon for us.
You're the lucky one who drew the short straw...

** Mission 7

The Star Destroyers Challenge, Immortal and Formidable are waiting for the MC-90 Warspite and the Interdictor
Harpax II to arrive before they can launch their attack against the Rebel fleet.
Unfortunately, the Rebels decided not to wait for our help to arrive. A recon party has signalled that the
fleet has jumped to hyperspace. Several fighters are being launched, but it would not be good if those Rebels
    were to show up here...

** Mission 8

By nabbing their commander-in-chief, Admiral Krey'fas, we've forced the Rebels into a deal: we will receive a
squadron of the K-wing starfighter, and their admiral as well as the prisoners we've taken will be returned to
them. Once we have received the K-wings, we will launch transports carrying the Rebel prisoners.
