Well created missions with some being a little more tedious than others. None of the missions were particularly difficult and length wise some were short and some were right in the middle. Overall the missions were enjoyable to fly. As far as any kind of story, I didn't really feel immersed in anything. This could have been about anything for me.

pretty decent battle, make sure to focus the corvettes early on otherwise youll fail when they hyperspace away. the next mission has a few ATRs boarding and if one of them gets destroyed the other will fly into the other ATR causing you to fail the mission. might be a flight patch issue

I played on Easy. This battle had less waiting around than some of the others in this series, but there was still a good bit of it. I do appreciate that you get to choose between T/F, T/I/ and T/B in most missions, as you can fly what you'd like. Most missions have Reinforcements available too, which is nice if you like winning with overwhelming force.

This one gets a bit of a lower review score than the others as there are some problems with it. In specific there is the issue in Mission 1 whereby if both Stimner 1 and Stimner 2 are alive they will crash into each other as Stimner 2 attempts to dock. To be able to complete it you have to either kill Stimner 1 or Stimner 2 yourself (you only need one to survive). Or alternatively in the higher difficulty allow one of them to get killed by the enemy. Though it is unlikely the enemy will manage to kill one.

Another great recreation of some original TF missions. My only problem with this set of missions is that there's a lot of downtime depending on the speed you can operate at. And without TF's time compression feature, you have to sit through watching the AI do routines on a few occasions. But otherwise, very solid!

Once again the remastered versions of the original TIE Fighter keep up the high level of fidelity and improvement in the XvT engine. Those original missions were so perfect. In addition, the wavpack maintains the atmosphere of the old game, very much intact. These battles are canon in my personal library, do not miss them for anything.

Another faithful port of Tie FIghter over to the XvT Engine. Fair bit of waiting around on this one, makes it a tad dreary. 4 out of 5 stars as not original content. No bugs found.

Battle name is Conflict at Mylok IV.

Mission 2: message about good looking attack alpha 2 plays twice.
Mission 4: All corvettes prioritize attacking your mission critical craft as soon as they arrive, meaning that if you do not kill them immediately you will fail the mission. If you use your warheads fast enough, they will prioritize your reload craft and then your shuttle.

CARG Stimner2 attempts to dock before Stimner 1 and collides with Stimner 1, causing the mission to fail. Editing flight orders to have Stimner 1 dock first would correct this. This is in mission 1.

Mission 1: CARG Stimner collide with each other while trying to dock with M/FRG Shamus, and are destroyed, preventing completion of the mission.

Title: TIE Fighter: Conflict at Myloc IV Missions: 5 Medal: Medal of Order Authors: David Wessman and David Maxwell of Peregrine Software. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Briefings: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mission 1: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "Admiral Zaarin has been entrusted with overseeing TIE starfighter development by Emperor Palpatine and Lord Vader. The R&D facility he commands has been completing the design of the production version of the TIE Advanced. This latest TIE starfighter is derived from Lord Vader's specially modified TIE fighter. Zaarin's scientists had hoped to perfect a hyperdrive engine that could be added to the TIE Advanced. However, they have not found a design that is reliable and small enough to be installed on a TIE craft. A breakthrough has been achieved by a group of scientists working for the Habeen and the Nharwaak. Admiral Zaarin has negotiated to get demonstration versions of the new hyperdrive technology to evaluate. The Habeen and Nharwaak are located in the Outer Rim territories on Mylok IV and are currently not members of the Empire. Your mission is to escort the Habeen convoy of 4 Cargo Ferries to a rendezvous with Zaarin's ship. We do not expect trouble. However, the Habeen admit that their recent allies and co-developers of the new hyperspace technology, the Nharwaak, are not as eager to sell their advancements to the Empire. In fact, they are leaning towards doing business with the Rebellion. Therefore, the Nharwaak may try to intervene with their Y-wings and Z-95 Headhunters to stop the convoy." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "Verify that the Cargo Ferries are carrying the cargo that matches their manifests. They should be carrying new starfighter technology. In this time of rebellion and terrorism, it pays to double check everything." Mission 2: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "The Nharwaak are incensed that the Habeen are willing to sell their jointly developed technology to the Empire. They have defied all attempts at peaceful negotiation and have recently threatened to sell the hyperdrive technology to the Rebellion. The Rebels could use this technology to upgrade their existing fleet of hyperdrive capable craft. We can not let this technology be sold to the Rebels. Therefore, in this mission we are launching an attack on the Nharwaak base where the technology is being stored. Destroy all cargo carrying vessels, let no ship escape! The Nharwaak are being supplied by the Rebels with older model starfighters like the Y-wing. These craft will likely be used to defend their base. The base is also defended by Corvettes." Mission 3: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "You are to stop an onslaught of Nharwaak Y-wings from destroying the Habeen Research outpost before it can be evacuated. Imperial intelligence has learned that in retaliation for our attack on their base, the Nharwaak are planning to launch a reprisal raid on the Habeen technology research center. TRN Runner and two Imperial shuttles will rescue the base personnel. If the containers are destroyed before all three rescue craft have docked, you have failed your mission." Mission 4: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "Admiral Zaarin's negotiations with the Habeen have reached a pivotal point. All the business terms of the technology transfer deal have been hammered out. Only the formal signing of the agreement and the recognition of the Habeen and their full rights as Imperial citizens remain to be finalized. The Empire and the Habeen will rendezvous to seal this deal. You will patrol the rendezvous site, protecting the Shamus and the Habeen from any last ditch attack from the Nharwaak. Despite our best attempts to keep the rendezvous site a secret, we expect that the Nharwaak will find out about the meeting and try to disrupt it. If they do attack, they will likely attack with Y-wings and Corvettes." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "You are to inspect the four transports that the Habeen will be sending to the Shamus. You must verify that their cargoes are the technology they have promised." Mission 5: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "Imperial intelligence reports that the Nharwaak are trying to follow through with their threat to hand over their version of the hyperdrive technology to the Rebels. This can not be allowed. You will join in on the attack on the Rebel forces that are loading equipment from the Nharwaak. We must destroy Rebel FRG Xerxes. The Rebels are placing great importance in obtaining this technology. They will be throwing their best pilots and starfighters into the battle. We expect to see A-wings, X-wings and Y-wings." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Debriefings: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mission 1: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "The Cargo Ferries have successfully unloaded their cargo on to the Shamus. Zaarin's research scientists are already hard at work conducting a preliminary analysis of the Habeen technology." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "You ensured that the Habeen convoy was carrying technology related cargo. The Habeen technology could bring new advances to the TIE starfighter line." Mission 2: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "The Nharwaak base was eliminated and the cargo containers and the Corvettes were destroyed. Further reconnaissance patrols are needed to determine if all the Nharwaak technology has been destroyed." Mission 3: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "You have driven off the attack and secured the area. The Habeen were able to successfully evacuate their research team and vital equipment. The Imperial Navy's effort here has gone a long way in finalizing a deal between the Habeen and the Empire for their hyperdrive technology." Mission 4: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "We have secured the area and concluded the treaty signing. Most of all, the Empire has gained the new hyperdrive technology which enables the TIE Advanced project to be completed. Soon these remarkable craft will be put into service and you will gain the benefits of this new technology." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "Excellent, you verified the cargo contents. The last transport contained some type of advanced weapon's technology that is totally new. We will have to investigate this further." Mission 5: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "We have prevented the Rebels from gaining access to this prized technology. We have also destroyed a large portion of their starfighter squadrons and one of their valuable frigates. Well done!" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mission Hints: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mission 1: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "Your priority should be to take out those Y-wings that are attacking the Cargo Ferries. Don't get distracted by the Z-95s that are battling the other TIEs." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "Before the battle commences, do a quick flyby of all the Cargo Ferries to inspect their cargo holds." Mission 2: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "Tell your wingmen to attack one of the Corvettes while you attack the other. Six torpedo hits should destroy a Corvette. Make sure both Corvettes are destroyed before going after other craft." Mission 3: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "Use your wingmen to attack other Y-wing while you deal with one yourself. Target and fire concussion missiles at the attackers as quickly as you can. TRN Runner and the two shuttles must dock with the cargo containers to rescue the base personnel." Mission 4: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "Do not be confused as to who is who. If a targeted craft has purple text in the CMD for its name, it is an enemy. The craft with the blue text are the Habeen whose forces we are supporting." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "Keep alert for the radio message that announces that the first transport is being sent to the Shamus. There are a total of four transports to inspect." Mission 5: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "When concentrating your attack on the FRG Xerxes, use your missiles to surgically remove its laser guns and turbolaser turrets. When it has been stripped of its defenses, you can finish it off."
