Phantom Weekly Report #3 (25.02.01)

Introduction

Phantom has had an interesting week with a new member, good activity from most of the members and lots of competitions for the pilots to take part in. We also now have a good number of pilots (thus giving us citations for EVERY XWA Battle), all the mottos and nicks are back, Flight III have regained their website and that is just the start to the many upturns coming to Phantom.

Squadron News

New Phantom Pilot

Please welcome LT Mahak de Lay to Phantom Squadron. He has just joined from PLT Daedalus and I'm sure that he will go on to be a great pilot here. Mahak has already shown what he can do by getting promoted to LT by completing his INPR, as well as already flying 4 Battles.

LCM Bill Tar demoted from Flight II Leader

Due to a high period of inactivity I have demoted LCM Bill Tar from his FL position. Whether his inactivity is his fault or not, I can not have an inactive FL so I have opened up the space for someone who can do the job. I am currently asking a few people if they want the job from outside the squadron. No offence, but the pilots that are currently in Phantom are either inexperienced or don't want the job so I will have to look elsewhere.

XWA League Combat Run #4 Mission: FREE-XWA15 "Mercenary Doom" Deadline: 1st March (entries before the 3rd March might also be accepted, but not guaranteed) Mail to: werdna_elbee@emperorshammer.ca  Notes: On Hard you are likely to get a score of 8000. It is also possible to make over 10000 pts if you push yourself hard enough. On easy, you should be getting 4000 pts, but I want better than that :o)

Wing Competition

The Wing Competition where you had to fly FREE-XWA8 has just ended. I have just sent off the pilot files to VA Adrenaline and we should expect to hear the results soon. As well as medals for the winner, we can also cross our fingers and hope that our squadron done well together as the COM's Own award is up for grabs in this contest.

Star Wars Timeline help 14:35 - RA Ian Jackson [ehian@home.com] I've been assigned to make a webpage regarding all the Star Wars Films. Currently the EH doesn't have one of these and RA Ramos and I feel it would be good. I'm making the current template for it and need some articles and pictures regarding Episode I, II, etc. If you want to help out, e-mail bhgian@home.com while CCing ehian@home.com.

Cheating Reminder 07:18 - HA Kawolski [absurefire@aol.com] The database has recently caught several cheaters who were either sharing pilot files or stealing pilot files (i.e. a CMDR takes his FM's pilot files, renames them, and submits them to his WC as the CMDR's own). These cases are currently being investigated.

Keep in mind that the punishment for cheating for FIRST TIME OFFENDERS is a demotion to Sub-Lieutenant, loss of all medals (except the OV), loss of all high scores, and a perm-ban (which applies to all clones as well) off the battle board and FCHG system. Repeat offenders are expelled.

The rule is simple: One pilot file for one PIN # only. Don't share your pilot file with friends. Don't share your pilot file with clones to try to get double the credit for the work done.

NOTE FROM CMDR: I will not tolerate any cheating. You can find out what is considered cheating and what isn't at http://www.tiecorps.org/tac/tac-man/cheating.html to read the TC Cheating Policy.

• Fly for XWA League CR#4. FREE-XWA15 for the 1st March.

• Take part in as many multiplayer competitions as you can (more info can be found at http://www.tiecorps.org/combat/)

• Attend IRC as often as possible. Remember that as well as #emperor's_hammer and #tiecorps, there is also an #ISD_Immortal room. If you need any help getting on IRC and using mIRC (or whatever) mail me. ISD Immortal meetings are on at 3pm EST in their channel. 

• Recruit!!! If I can do it, ANYONE can!!!

• Give me some BSFs to do. If there are any missions you haven't flown, then get flying. If you've completed them already, then why not go for the highscores as they may be useful in a future competition.
