Squadron Activity
Quite a bit more activity this week, with most of it coming from LT’s Justin and Zach! Great job on completing your IWATS Courses! LT Zach already has 7 IWATS Courses to his credit since he first joined the EH, and is working on more.
I have been in contact with several of our more inactive pilots this week, and most have promised to kick their activity back into high gear once they get through this period of exams and so forth at school. Keep up the good work Samekh, and remember to check in weekly with your FL’s! Also remember that it is your responsibility to notify your FL’s if anything changes with your status, or if you need some help with your activity.
New pilots needed for Samekh
We are in need of fresh blood to help fill our ranks. As a result, I am now asking that all members of Samekh please help find new pilots to rebuild our numbers. Please feel free to contact any Cadet and see if they need any assistance in completing their training, and by doing so you will be able to convince them that Samekh is where they should be assigned upon completion of their training! Also, if you know anyone that enjoys online gaming in the SW area, and would be interested in joining, please let me know so that I can contact them as well and encourage them to join the EH and Samekh! :P
Return of the Samekh Weekly Competition
With thanks to your FL brethren, I will be reinstituting the Samkeh Weekly Competition starting this next week! Here are the details: The weekly assigned battle has been changed to a free mission, still determined by your glorious CMDR. Each pilot that completes the mission will receive a completion on the squadron Kills Board! The pilot with the highest score will receive the Kill for the weekly mission! If you have already flown the listed mission, then when submitting your pilot file, please be sure to note that you have already received credit from the TAC for the mission. I will then use the TIE, XvT or XWA Pilot Viewer to record your score manually!
My thanks to LT Soontir Fel for giving me some new ideas to help promote this competition and in keeping it alive for the squadron! The new mission will be listed in the Competition section of this report.

WING NEWS
Weekly Wing V Meetings:
Wing V will start having weekly meetings each Saturday at 1300 HRS EST, 1800 HRS GMT, in the Airlock! All pilots are welcome to attend, although the primary purpose of these meetings are for Command purposes, all pilots are welcome to inject ideas or thoughts during the meetings, and are strongly encouraged to attend!
FL’s are given more responsibility
Thanks to the efforts of DOC Striker and Nurse Sickman, Wing V is going to be putting our neglected FL’s to work on a regular basis from now on! All FM’s are now to follow standard policy of reporting weekly to their FL’s, and FL’s are to report the activities, or non-activity, or their FM’s to their CMDR on a weekly basis as well. FL’s will now conduct regular checks on their pilots if they do not hear from them, or if their activity begins to drop-off. The purpose of this new policy is to help the wing become stronger and help build communication within the squadrons and the wing!

The Competition is heating up. FA Kramer informed LC Proton and I that the current leader sits with 8 completed courses! Time to get to the Imperial Academy and knock some courses this week gentlemen!
Imperial Historical Society

Today the Logistics Office would like to publicly announce the official opening of the Imperial Historical Society, the IHS. The Imperial Historical Society is in charge of the compilation, analysing and contemplation of moments within the Emperor's Hammer history. These activities would be conducted in order to compile a thorough, and well discussed view of the Emperor's Hammer history without bias and to provide a source of valuable information to members of the Emperor's Hammer. The Imperial Historical Society is divided into two main divisions. The first has three sub units, each with four members, these are called Committees. Each Committee is appointed a task, each of which last around four weeks. The purpose of such tasks is as stated above. The second division consists of historians, which are situated in various places around the Emperor's Hammer tasked with collecting information for their area. We hope that the Imperial Historical Society will bring new light into the history of the Emperor's Hammer, and teach people about what happened before them.
Thus this brings us onto the fact of that the Imperial Historical Society is currently recruiting. We are looking for members to fill the three committees and appoint historians for ships and subgroups, there are no set requirements however we are looking for quite experienced members who have a thorough knowledge of the Emperor's Hammer. The longer your history and the more you know about the past of the Emperor's Hammer is of course a tremendous bonus. Design the EH Logo Contest

With the recent letter from LucasFilms to cease and desist using the "Imperial Icon" on Emperor's Hammer Gear, the Fleet Commander announces a NEW contest open to ALL Members of the Emperor's Hammer. The contest will center on the design and posting of a new distinctly EH logo for possible use on EH Gear.
The requirements for this new EH Logo are posted as follows:
The design can NOT infringe on any existing LucasFilms copyrights (that means you can't use existing Star Wars imagery, pics, logos, etc.
The design shall be 600x600 dpi resolution
The design shall have the basic design posted below and shall prominently feature our WWW site address - www.emperorshammer.org.
The idea here is to be creative and come up with ORIGINAL ideas...NO variants of the Imperial Icon please...:)
Please submit your images to the Fleet Commander (GA Ronin). Due to the importance and prominence of this logo, the winner, as determined by Fleet Commander (GA Ronin), will be awarded a Grand Order of the Emperor (GOE) Medal !

Ircle, the most popular Mac IRC client has been updated for the first time in about 2 years! This is the 'Carbonized' version and only runs on MacOs 9.0.1 and higher, with CarbobLib installed. Check it out at http://www.ircle.com
After downloading the beta of the Quake II Star Wars modification, I am sorry to say it will not work on Macintosh in its current state. Though the game files appear to be compatible, they are enabled by using BAT and EXE files. If any Mac coder wants to have a look at them and try to make a conversion (they seem to open as text files) you can get the conversion at http://www.3ddownloads.com/index.php3?directory=/telefragged/swtc/ The file to download is DM1.zip.

SAMEKH WEEKY COMPETITION 2001
Welcome back to the Samekh Weekly Competition for 2001! For those that are new and don’t know about the comp, I’ll lay out the minor details not already covered in this report. Each week I’ll assign a mission, each pilot is responsible for flying it, and turning in their pilot file to me by Friday of each week. Those that do fly it will be given a credit for flying it on the Kills Board. The pilot with the highest overall score will receive the Kill point for the week on the Kills Board! The overall winner at the end of the competition, Dec. 25th will receive a shiny new Palpatine Crescent! The runner-up will receive an Imperial Security Medal! So lets get to those fighters and win, win, win!
This weeks assigned mission is a personal favorite of mine. ;)
All pilots fly Free-XWA #3 and have all pilot files to me by Friday! Good Hunting!
