CMDR/CM Krax Tarnisar reporting in for Spear Squadron on April 17, 2001

Sorry this one’s a bit late. I had some RL difficulties over the weekend and am just now getting back into the swing of things. I’m also working nights now, so the new WSR date will be Sundays instead of Fridays.

Fleet News
Not a whole lot of general interest has been going on in the fleet. Just some rumblings about SW mods for certain games being closed down due to lack of interest, as well as a whole slew of command reports. Some interesting, and others… Well, the less said the better. The Tac Office also released a series of new battles. Haven’t had a chance to fly any of them yet, but they sound interesting. As always, check the TC News page (http://www.tiecorps.org/news.asp) for the latest.

Wing News
We’ve lost another squadron commander, with Major Ladesh over in Hammer stepping down. We’re also still waiting to see who will end up as commodore of the good old Relentless. Stay tuned…

Also, work is still going on with an historical mission for the Relentless. This was mentioned on the Wing IX group, as well as the wing commander’s report. It’s based on the SW ‘cannon’ version, and not the EH version of the Relentless’ history. It sounds like a good one, so stay tuned.

Squadron News
Our competition with the IW began last Wednesday, and by now all of you should be happily flying away. The mission is FT149 (Patrol of Somewhere), and is attached to this report for those of you who might have missed it the first time. As I said before, this is our first squadron competition under my command, and I’d like to see us do Wing IX proud. The final date for this is April 20 (three days away), so get flying! We’re taking on the entire IW.

On a sad note, LCMCajunBoy was required by school difficulties to request a transfer to the Reserves. Join me in wishing him well, as well as welcoming him back to Spear once things settle down a bit. His departure drops us back down to five members, so recruiting has again become a big deal.

So far I have yet to see a single .tfr for the little ‘test’ I sent out. Now I know we’ve got the competition and all, but this one’s not that hard. See if you can’t get these to me by the end of the week. As I said before, you only should fly the mission ONCE.

Since we’re now below 50% strength, I’ve decided not to fill the Flight 3 FL position for the time being.
