This report was submitted by CPT Stele Pellaeon

CMDR/CPT Stele Pellaeon reporting in for Sin Squadron 12.17.00
---------------------------------------------------------------

100 emails of "FL Idea" in my mailbox... 100 emails of "FL Idea"....

If you haven't been paying attention lately, there's lots and lots of talk about FL duties. If you want to voice your opinion, go ahead and respond or post it up on our message board. It's an extremely interesting topic in our squadron.

Squadron News
--------------

Well our Gladiator Challenge is running smoothly and I have the results for the GLADIATOR BATTLE. The Gladiator, LT Squall fought LT Strahd in a duel using TC-19 as their weapons. The results are as followed:
(trumpets start to play)

Mission flown: TC-19
(HAK SCORES)
Gladiator LT Squall Lionheart: 79074
Challenger LT Strahd Pendragon: 23559

-Lt Squall Lionheart is the victor and defends his position as GLADIATOR OF SIN!!!
-good job LT Strahd, better luck next time
-next to step into the ring, chosen at random, is LT Desmos
-LT Squall has the option to use this battle for this next match or may choose another battle. Good luck to both pilots.

I stated earlier that our sin.squadron.org site is down for the moment. I'll notify you of any important information that takes place, and don't forget to keep your eyes peeled on the message board for anything.

Well, we got our citation for TC-17 but just barely. Well, it'll be official once LC Inkwolf processes my tfr file. We could lose it in an instant though. If we get another recruit, we'll lose that citation for that battle. So, if any of you other guys who haven't flown it have the chance, go on and fly it. It's farely an easy battle.

The ISM is still up for grabs but if you take a look at the activity below you'll find that a certain someone ::coughdesmoscough:: has a pretty good chance at claiming that medal. The month isn't over yet...

All weekly reports, since I was an A-CMDR are now posted up at our TC squadron roster. There are about 14 of them.

Operation: Release the TIEs is practically over. I'm just being lenient to a pilot who hasn't turned in his tfr file due to confusion. Operation report will be released before this next week is over.

Squadron Orders
---------------

Since we barely got our citation for TC-17, I'll let any of you choose the next battle for a citation. Requests no later than Monday night. First come first serve.

LT Squall, you are to choose whether to use TC-19 for this next challenger of yours or to choose another TC battle.

An ISM is up for grabs for whoever flies the most missions this month. It can be any missions for either TF, XvT, or XWA. So shoot away!! We're halfway through the month, so anyone can turn around and take that ISM.

LCM MacCredu has created Sin Squadron's very own activity tracking record site. All of you to go to http://www.homestead.com/sinchallenge/weeklyreport.html and type in any activity you've done and send it off. It ensures that I get all activity you know you've done and that I won't forget. If you have any questions about it ask me or LCM MacCredu.

TC Message Center moderators wanted
22:28 - SA Kawolski [absurefire@aol.com]
I'm looking for responsible message board moderators for the main TIE Corps forums, particularly with the Training/Help Forum where some members seem to enjoy breaking the rules and recruit for their squadrons or wing or ship on there. The requirements are simple: Be a TIE Corps member, be able to check the message boards at least once or twice a day, and hold the rank of Commander or higher.

If you'd like to apply, please e-mail Sector Admiral Kawolski with your application and PIN #.

First Templar
20:03 - LC Chrusos Ichthys [VitCarp@stardestroyer.org]
Captain Brucmack of the ISD Grey Wolf is the first Pilot to achieve the FCHG rank of Templar. Congrats to him and his extraordinary flying ability.

IWATS/TO site problems
07:10 - HA Astatine [jpboyce@indigo.net.au]
Over the last few days, the imperialacademy.org domain has had a few problems. It seems that two of the connectivity providers that link to the domain were fighting over who should serve traffic requests. This resulted in the original problem of not being able to access the site and later turned into the domain name not even resolving for people. The problem was resolved early this morning Australian time and the site now seems accessable to all users. Sorry for any problems this might have caused.

IO Hosting Service
02:21 - AD Absolutek [io@absolutek.com]
As of 3:52am (EST) this morning, all accounts that have requested continued hosting have been transfered to the new server. If you requested a new web hosting account via http://www.absolutek.com, and have not recieved the email with your new username/password details, please email me at io@absolutek.com ASAP. I have transferred all domains with the exception of the following:

squadron.org (problems with NSI)

thebhg.org and corporatedivision.com (awaiting password resets)

ehsenate.org and krath.org (the owners of these domains have been contacted to alter their domains DNS servers)

I hope to have the problems with the above mentioned domains, resolved within a week.
All accounts that have been setup, are accessible through http://www.emperorshammer.ca/username/ where "username" is the name of the site you wish to visit. This makes it possible to still view/work with sites that don't yet have a working DNS. For example, if i wanted to visit the Lambda Squadron website (normally at http://lambda.squadron.org), i would go to http://www.emperorshammer.ca/lambda/.

Since I have had shut down the DNS daemon on my server, pages on my server will only be accessable through http://207.210.171.77/~username, where "username" is the username for your account on my server. For example, the Lambda Squadron website has a username of "lambda", therefore, it is accessable through http://207.210.171.77/~lambda. The purpose of this, is to allow anybody who has not yet grabbed their stuff off my server, to do so.

I haven't gotten all the mysql databases setup yet, so please email me at io@absolutek.com if yours hasn't been setup yet.

The Internet Office website is temporarily available at http://io.emperorshammer.ca

I would again like to ask for people to be patient during this transition to the new hosting service.<

AIM Security Advisory
00:21 - AD Absolutek [io@absolutek.com]
AOL AIM versions prior to 4.3.2229 have several exploits contained in them. They are described in an @Stake.com advisory here: http://www.atstake.com/research/advisories/2000/a121200-1.txt.

You can find out what version of AIM you are running by opening up your AIM window, clicking the help menu, and selecting "About AOL Instant Messenger...". A small box will pop up, and in it, you can find the exact version of AIM that you are using. You can download the latest version of AOL AIM from: http://www.aol.com/aim/download.html. Of course, you could always just do yourself a favour and delete AIM altogether, and install ICQ & mIRC.
