Sigma Report # 0 (2000-06-12)

This report was submitted by CPT Artyis

Sigma Squadron Weekly Report (05.06.2000 - 12.06.2000):

Greetings and salutations, pilots. Another week passed out without sign
of life from our commander - Captain Al R.S. It is rumoured however that
he wasn't able to do it, because he is a first patient (victim?)
appointed to "accelerated recovery program", what means - as Doktor
Inkwolf said - a new and completely safe method of healing. Well, good
luck, Captain, I really hope, you are tougher than they suppose... (No
offence, Lady Inkwolf - there are only rumours after all... ;)

Okay, back to bussines, as soon as I finish this report - we're free
and... heh heh - our cantina is waiting for us already, as I assume...

Fleet-wide news:
# "Big news in the last week was the savage kicking that Wing II gave to
Wing X in their latest showdown..." - FO/FA Kessler. That is! As we know
already our Wing, despite fears for ultimate result, has turned out to
be a winner of wargame against (in)famous Wing X. According to our Wing
Commander order - from now on pilots from Ten are our best friends, and
we really have no reason for call them... as we called them before...
Lady, gentelmen - I thought it over and came to conclusion that it is a
wise order - if even there are still c#&@!ers among them - the rest (and
I'm sure the rest equals all but one or two pilots) don't deserve to be
insulted...

Turning back to Wing II victory and - of course - celebrations. Our
squadron did well in this competition. We were able to achieve a good,
near 65 per cent partiticipation ratio (we should have an over 72, but
brother pilot Haggis McMutton wasn't able to send his result in time...
Hm, did I mention "TPSA Curse" today? :/ ). Moreover we have had the
best squadron score of all in entire competition! Congratulations,
brothers pilots! I'm glad I can fight shoulder to shoulder with you -
not against you. :) I would also like to thank Captain Todbringer, who
prepared a nice statistic sheet for this competition (not included
here - it's in Polish anyway...).

It's also worth of notice that one of our pilots, in recognition of his
unusual, exemplary service to the Wing which has been shown during the
competition, was awarded Palpatine Crescent! Congratulations, Captain Al
R.S., Sir! You deserved your ninth PC in absolutely fantastic way - your
fight with broken arm on hard level, shall be known well among pilots of
entire Fleet! Maybe some day, in few years you'll become a hero from one
of fleet legends...? Congratulation once again.
...And, Lieutenant Colonel Harkonnen, Sir... Well, I don't know how to
tell this, but to be honest I personally also have had problems which
almost made impossible to me to fly this battle - I've had a terrible
headache while flying, so... I hope it is worth a little, shiny ISM,
isn't? ;))

# And now for serious - as far as I know three pilots from our squadron
begun Summer Challenge already. As a reminder - they who would like to
participate have to inform about this a SC Coordinator - General (yes,
General) Ricardo, Wing Commander of Four (email address:
bantha_34@hotmail.com). The rules are simple - pilots they decided to
participate are supposed to complete 108 TIE Free Missions (instead of
118 as it was said previously) without turning invulnerability or
unlimited missiles on. Every one, which will be able to achive this goal
will be rewarded a Palpatine Crescent for his efforts. More about this -
here: http://redrival.com/sovwingiv/challenge.htm

# According to General Wolly's words the Squadron League Combat Run #10
will be announced 1st July. To this time coordinators of this event are
going to present results of every already finished round. Well, it seems
we will know actual results faster than some of us have expected (this
millenium after all)...

# We've got, thanks to Fleet Admiral Kumba, a new fleet-wide message
board. You can find it at: http://msgboards.squadron.org/

Squadron Status:
# The 2nd round of TIE League for every one who participates in ends
tomorrow (Tuesday, 13th) evening. We're supposed to fly TIE Free Mission
#113 "Sword vs. Hawk Squadron" for this round.
# We're still waiting for the results' announcement for Captain
Todbringer's Anniversary Competition. They might be every moment so stay
tuned. ...And as far as I know some of us will be suprised... ;)
# Just a reminder - Wing banner contest. Deadline - a day before our
Wing Commander's birthday (who's responsible for gifts from Sigma?!
Regis? Hag?) - 15th of June.

Activity reports:
# Well, I'm glad to see activity of our pilots growing - it looks like
the time of exams is finally going to its happy-end.
However, it's my unpleasant duty to inform you, brothers, that
Lieutenant Commander Gambit is in serious danger of considering him
AWOL - he didn't explain his absence for 4 weeks, but I hope he will
until next Monday. Brother Gambit - let us know, what is the matter with
you...
