Introduction

Yes, it's another week so it's another time for a new Squadron Commander...I mean weekly report! I should be gone in three days time if I stick to the schedule that the other CMDRs had.

Nah...I think I'll stick around for a while longer. I want to make Phantom on of the best squadrons in the fleet, and I certainly won't leave until then. As you see, I have already got stuck into my duties by making the weekly report in the first day of my command.

My only real problem with this job is the fact that I don't know anything about this squadron, and not too much about the wing either. If you had any projects or competitions running that aren't listed in this report, please tell me.

Also, I want everyone in Phantom to mail me and tell me about yourselves. Tell me your skills, what activities you like doing, and all that stuff.

Another good showing by Ranger pretty much tips them to keep the top spot for the rest of the competition. There was some good work by Demon and Falcon to try and get close, and a decent bit of playing by my old squadron Beth.

I've noticed that there is no listing for Phantom Squadron. Well, we'll soon sort that out won't we. Get onto CR#3 now!!!

XWA League Combat Run #3

CR#3 is on right now, so get flying FREE-XWA #12 and get it to me (werdna_elbee@emperorshammer.ca) by February 15th! You have a week to get a decent score. If you do well on it, please remember to post some tips to the whole squadron.

I want a decent showing from phantom in this competition. We not be able to win it now (Ranger pretty much have that covered) but there are still plenty of other squadrons to show up n this contest.

Aleth vs. Phantom

I caught wind that this competition was being arranged. I know the Aleth CMDR quite well, so I'll get in tough and see if we can still have this competition in the near future.

There is a run-on in the Phantom Message Board right now. Get down to http://www.tiecorps.org/mb/view.asp?b=35 and add on a part. If you need any info on how to take part in run-ons, please mail me about it.

New Ghost CMDR

CPT Braxton is now CMDR of Ghost Squadron. Lets hope he sticks around as a CMDR too :o)

Change of Flight Officer

AD Theodore has had to step down as FO due to having a little nipper. The choice was to look after us or ignore his new child...I think he made the right choice.

AD Priyum Patel is now FO...which is cool as he is also my pimp (ask him on IRC).

Plot Comp
It's all pretty simple. Merely outline the plot for the next competition from the Training Office. You can be as detailed as you want.

Winner gets an Iron Star - Silver Ribbon

Format 
Submissions can be in either plain text, Rich Text (RTF), HTML or Word 97 (note: Word 2000 should be okay too, as 97 can still read it).

Submitting 
Entries should be sent to plotcomp@imperialacademy.org with the subject line Plot Competition. Make sure you include your ID line. Entries with incorrect subject lines, no ID line or not submitted in the formats outlined above will be deleted.

Deadline 
You have until 17th of February.

New TIE Competition

Some news about a new TIE competition, as stated by LC Ford Prefect:

    Hail, fellow officers! 
    TIE pilots: Are you tired of seeing multi-player comp after multi-player comp come and go, staring at your lonely copy of single-player TIE, wishing you could tear the internal organs out of another hotshot in space combat? 
    Multiplayer pilots: Own TIE? Want to show all those single-player braggarts who's daddy? 
    Then we have a comp for you! Introducing...Saturday Night Fever! 
    A TIE competition based on multiplayer format, SNF is a bi-weekly event, happening in the IRC channel of #airlock54. From 2 - 10 CST (pm), duel fellow pilots in free missions and battles of your choosing! 
    Stay the whole night and smack down all comers, or duke it out with a particular foe or friend to show who's boss! 
    Not only do you get bragging rights and FCHG points for participating, but awards for top-notch flying are also available!

    The first competition will be held on February 10th! Be there or be a  transvestite Ewok!

Iron Star News 

As stated by XO Kawolski...

Ok, here's something I came up to smooth over the IS system:
Iron Star - [Medal Type] Wings (Flying competitions) 
Iron Star - [Medal Type] Ribbon (Non-flying competitions)

The medal types are Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. (No more Copper or Nickel)

Bronze - Competition involving at least 6 pilots, 2nd place where a Silver IS is awarded, 3rd place/participating award where a Gold or Platinum IS is awarded
Silver - Wing competition involving 4 or more squadrons or task units, 2nd place where a Gold or Platinum IS is awarded
Gold - Ship competition involving 3 or more wings/task forces.
Platinum - Fleet competition, medal only awarded by the Training Officer.

For multi-part competitions, at the Training Office and Operation Office's discretion, you can award an IS for each part.

The Wings have FCHG points attached to them while Ribbons do not.

TC Newsletter Battlecry Final Issue

I'm releasing Battlecry tonight (probably at 8pm GMT), so get down to http://battlecry.emperorshammer.ca and download issue 12. There are interviews with FC Ronin, TO Astatine and XO Kawolski, news on the January XvT and XWA Week Of War, plenty of submissions and the results to the remaining sections of the BIG Competition.

Remember to get the EH newsletter from now on, as I'm writing for that now :o)

Orders

  • Fly FREE-XWA12 for the 15th February (I think that's a Thursday). Send it to me and show all the other XWA League squadrons what we can do!!!

  • Take part in the run-on on the Phantom MB

  • Take part in as many multiplayer competitions as you can (more info can be found at http://www.tiecorps.org/combat/)

  • Attend IRC as often as possible. Remember that as well as #emperor's_hammer and #tiecorps, there is also an #ISD_Immortal room. If you need any help getting on IRC and using mIRC (or whatever) mail me.

  • Recruit!!! We need at least one more pilot before we can have Battle Citations again. More than that would be even nicer.
