Sigma Report # 0 (2000-11-05)

This report was submitted by CPT Artyis

Greetings, Sigma's pilots and honorary guests, and welcome to the usual
Sigma Squadron Weekly Meeting. The usual meeting but news of unusual
importance in it, so let's get started without further delay.

Squadron news:

- Sigma has lost two excellent pilots and good friends this week:
Lieutenant Commander Haggis McMutton retired from Fleet for personal
reasons and Commander Thunder moved to Reserves because of lack of time
(he's been forced to because of important university-connected
obligations). You'll be missed, friends! We salute you!

- Because of aforementioned and completely unexpected retirements Sigma
has found itself in need of reinforcement. At the moment of writing this
report we have two slots open, but I'd like to notify you, that One of
these, Sigma 1-2, is going to be taken by our old good friend Captain
Devlin (former ISD Colossus's Omicron Squadron Commander) soon. I've
contacted with him and got an confirmation he's going to be with us on
Tuesday or Wednesday. Pilots, from now on I demand to treat Captain
Devlin as one of us. I'm also sure that some welcoming ceremony would
come in handy. Any ideas?

Brothers, Second free spot needs to be filled ASAP - before Squadron
League 2000 Finals announcement! We need all 12 pilots to win, so if you
know someone with Paol'iish nationality who in your opinion is worth of
naming him one of Sigma'ers, please inform me and try to recruit him.
This one has highest priority!

- Due to Commander Thunder decision of moving to Reserves Flight Two is
in need of Flight Leader. I decided to entrust command over Flight II to
Lieutenant Commander Esm'ael Rasxus. Lieutenant Commander - please
prepare to take 2-1 position. Brother, I demand much higher activity
than you showed so far!
Official request is going to be sent along with this report.

- Two of Sigma's pilots have been awarded Imperial Security Medals! The
request for medals was made by our WC: Lieutenant Commander Calzeo
Inkwolf. Reason given for request: For flying 7 (Lieutenant Commander
Obi-kan Kysiobi) and 10 (Lieutenant Commander Regis Knox) rounds of the
Squadron League 2000! Medals are pre-approved by COM/FA Kramer and the
other SL judges. Congratulations, Brothers!
By the way, it seems that Squadron League Finals are closing...

- Lieutenant Commander Gambit has been awarded Order of Vanguard this
week! He serves the Empire as a pilot of our almighty Fleet for one
year! Congratulations, Brother Pilot!

- Some of us have freed themselves from our national internet provider's
tyranny and changed it for the one, which offers flat-rate bill for
internet. Major Al, Captain Todbringer, I expect some LoCs'n'DFCs soon!
:)

Squadron Status:
- We have got a confirmation, that Sigma remains a leader of Squadron
League play-offs! Congratulations, Brothers, this makes me proud!
We also were able to find out why the results of two last rounds haven't
been announced so far; one of SL's judges, General Wolly explained:
"Re-adjustment of scores due to cases of cheating is the main reason why
the SL2K results for CR#13 and CR#14 are still not announced. Sorry
again for this delay!"

No news about SL's finals as of yet.

I attach results of CR#12.

- Lieutenant Colonel Ace Pilot's Supreme Squadron Series round 3 is on.
This time we are supposed to create a graphic. "There is a catch
however. All graphics made must be recruiting graphics for their squad.
No other graphics will be accepted. The phase begins now and reports
are due to me on the 12th and midnight. Good luck everyone and if you
have any questions please ask!" - RSV/LC Ace Pilot/M/FRG
Phoenix/Reserves (Smile577@aol.com)

No news on results of SSS's round two so far.

- Operation: Release the TIEs
9 of 10 Sigma Pilots are participating in! Lieutenant Commander Obi-Kan
Kysiobi has been assigned to red team, the rest is blue... ;). No combat
engagements news so far.

- I've got a Training Officer approval for our internal Squadron
competition (called "The Marathon") and awards for it. Competition is
going to last 8 weeks, where every week is 1 round of the Marathon.
Sigma's Pilots are supposed to fly one battle per round (on hard
difficulty level only!). Every pilot who completes all 8 battles will be
awarded Imperial Security Medal!

The opening battle is TIE #104 (attached). Two of us, Captain Todbringer
and myself have already completed the battle. It's relatively an easy
battle, so I expect reports from every of you. To your fighters, pilots!

- A reminder: we have to fly both Border Wars missions by November the
7th. This time it's allowed to fly on hard level and to kill rebs. I've
only one valid submission (Major Al's one) so far! Pilots, it's
important, so fly it if you can!
