Sigma Report # 0 (2000-09-21)

This report was submitted by CPT Artyis

May I have your attention, please? The sooner we finish it, the sooner
we will be back in cocpits. Thank you. ...Well, I don't know like you,
guys, but I don't like this Regnarok... ;P

* Sigma Squadron related news:

- Squadron League Combat Run #14 has been announced! We are to complete
TIE Battle #156, EH Wrestling Extravaganza before September, 30th.
Further details in Squadron Status section of this report.

- Competition against Rebels of Retribution Fleet, a.k.a. Border Wars
has started! It is due September, 30th. I expect 100% participation
ratio and best scores possible! Mission for it (custom one) attached.
Further details in Squadron Status section of this report.

- Supreme Squadron Series competition is on! Let's see how its
coordinator desribes it:

"For those of you who were here in the beginning of the month you
already have an idea of what is about to happen. I present to you all
the beginning of the Sumpreme Squadron Series, a quest to find the best
squadron in the TIE Corps and to find an escort squadron for AD Sarriss.
The first section will start now and is the fiction portion. Each
squadron will have as many pilots as possible submit pieces of fiction
that must be at least 200 words long.
There is no theme and the stories may be as long as you wish. The
squadron commander in each squad must chose the best piece of fiction
and send it to his Wing Commander along with how many pilots in his
squad participated out of the total amount of pilots. The Wing
Commander will then report for his whole wing and send me the best
submissions from each squad. The report should look something like
this:

A Squad - 3/6
B Squad - 4/7
C Squad - 2/3 (note, only 2 were able to write due
to one pilot having comp.
problems)
D Squad - 5/7

Well, you get the idea. Squads will get points based on percentage of
participation and for the quality of the best submissions. You can get
a total of 10 points in both catagories combined if 100% of the squad
submits a piece of fiction and the fiction gets rated a 5 by our judges.
If the squad has only 4 pilots or below then each submission counts as
one point towards participation. If you need anymore clarification on
this please ask.
WC reports are due to me with the best peices of fiction from each squad
on September 30th, midnight (EST).

All reports after that will not be accepted. Please foward all of this
information to your squadrons so we may start the fun! Good luck
everyone and if you have any questions please ask!

TIE League Director"

- High Admiral Kawolski has been promoted to the rank of Honorary Sector
Admiral!

- Our Wing Commander, Major Inkwolf took few days off and gone on
vacation. Acting Wing II Commander is Psi commander Major Ford Prefect.

- Brothers, let it be known, that from now on our trusted friend and
wingman Captain Todbringer will fulfill the obligations of Statistic
Officer of Sigma Squadron! Congratulations, brother Todbringer, we all
know you are the most suitable person for this position.

- Heh heh, after long and hard negotiations I've been named Honorary
Member of Desperado Club and have the rights to... Well, below you will
find Captain Todbringer's describsion of it (among others: those rights
to :). BTW: don't take it too seriously... ;)

"Desperado Club - created by Sigma Squadron Gunboat pilots; open only to
those who're doomed to fly this "marvellous" fighter. Gunboat pilots,
brave people and extremally well-trained warriors, formed this unoffical
group because of a very simple reason - they know the "quality" of their
fighter, especially as compared to modern, more maneuverable and
powerfull MIS, T/A or T/D models (which form the core of the Fleet), and
because of this "class difference" they fully realize that their next
combat mission may be their last. For those reasons they form rather
pessimistic, yet courageous, group, where they can share they fears with
those who are simillar to them. Because of all those "Gunboat pilot
disadvantages", members of Desperado Club have some special, exclusive
only to them, rights: they are allowed to sing sad songs without being
interrupted nor hushed by other pilots; they can play their harmonicas
when, where and as long as they only want - again, without being
interrupted by anyone; they're given a free beer and one extra meal
before each combat mission; they have right to be pessimistic, grim and
cynic without any special reason. All of these makes their hard and
dangerous life easier...
Desperado Club motto is: "Better tommorow was yesterday". Other notable
quotes, frequently used by Desperados, include: "Smile... Tommorow will
be worse", "Anything that can go wrong, will" or "Flying coffins
rule!"."

So - "it couldn't be worse" ;)

* Sigma Squadron Status:

#1. Squadron League Combat Run #14.
We are to fly TIE Battle #156, EH Wrestling Extravaganza. Pilots, this
event has a TOP PRIORITY on our to-do list! I would like to see all
reports on my desk on September, 30th - have I made myself clear?!

#2. Wing II vs. Retribution Fleet, a.k.a. Border Wars.
We are to fly one custom-made mission (attached) on medium difficulty by
September, 30th.
Pilots, give them hell!

#3. MegaSov Competition.
In short: during entire month we have to gather FCHG points. The Wing
with the highest amount of them - wins. Bad news is, as we know, that we
are lagging behind other Wings, the good that there is still some time
to get few point more and improve our result, so keep flying!
The additional motivation is Fleet Admiral Kramer's word, that he will
award Palpatine Crescent every pilot who breaks the limit of 100 FCHG
points!

#4. Supreme Squadron Series.
Details ("Lieutenant Colonel Ace Pilot's Guide to SSS" ;) above.
For your information: I've got two pieces of fiction so far.
