Welcome to yet another Sigma Squadron Weekly Report (r). Firstly I'd
like to apologise for delay due to real life obligations and my own...
flu. However my exam has been passed (though fever; heck, I'm very proud
of myself ;), improtant work that was keeping me away from flying is
closing to its happy end, and - after 16 hour sleep - I feel good enough
to write what you read. (sorry in advance 'bout that ;)
* Most Important News (MIN (tm)):
. The results of 11th Combat Run have been announced. We're still first
with near 5 million points of advantage over Rat-Pack, which is second
and Tornado, which stays on position three. We still have to remember,
that it's not over yet. And as we gave a word a year ago to GN Gallows,
that we shall win Squadron League 2K, we must do our best to keep this
promise!
. The results of 12th Combat Run (our Wing only) have been announced
(updated version - attached). We've been able once again to achieve 100%
participation ratio: every one of us has proven what full might of Sigma
means! Congratulations all!
. The orders on 13th Combat Run have been announced! We have to fly TIE
Battle #78 (attached) due to 14th of September. As far as I remember
we've flown this one some time ago, so it shouldn't be a problem to get
all twelwe files together and thus strenghten ourselves at first place
of this arguably most important (at least - longest-lasting)
competition.
. "Mega-Sov Competition" is prepared for its start. Details (what've
been sent to all of you before) are attached.
. We're still waiting for MAJ Inkwolf order, which will guide us toward
our most hatred enemy: the rebels from Retribution Fleet of Rebel
Squadrons! However due to problems with mission creator (who became a
CMDR of some squadron in Avenger Wing II) - this competition could be
delayed.
. High Court of Inquisitors has declared war against cheating practises,
what - as High Inquisitor Jedgar Paladin claims - are common among
pilots
of our Fleet. It's sad that such things happens at all, but at the same
time it's a reason to be glad, since at last cheaters will be punished
in a way that suits such foul behavior! (a message from HI Jedgar
Paladin - attached) It seems, that we of Wing II with our... let's name
it "aversion" to cheaters have found a powerful ally. That's why we'll
be waiting for results of this declaration with great concern.
* Squadron News:
. Thank to Captain Todbringer, we have an explenation for our new motto.
Enjoy.
"Vis et Honor" (Latin for "Strenght and Honour") is Sigma's current
motto.
We've chosen this proud sentence because it describes our Squadron's
philosophy, attitude and character in the best and simpliest way. Being
one
of the mightiest, best organized and most individual Squadrons in the
entire
Fleet, we believe that we have full right to use the word "Strenght" to
describe ourselves. We're very proud of what we've achived thanks to our
hard work and discipline and we hope that using this word won't be taken
as
a boast, but as a fully deserved descripsion of our position in the
Imperial
Navy. "Honour" we think, is the best word to describe our behaviour and
attitude towards other Sqaudrons - both Imperial and Rebel. Honour is
also
our highest Virtue and we do everything to prove it in our everyday
activity.
Captain Todbringer has also decided to update our old motto's
description. Here's what it looks now.
"Salus Imperii Suprema Lex" (Latin for "The Good of the Empire is the
Highest Law") is Sigma's previous motto. We've chosen this sentence
once,
because it pointed out our philosophy - "we do not fight for personal
glory
or rewards; all we do, we do it for our beloved Empire and the Eternal
Emperor. All our efforts are focused on the good of the Empire, because
we
know that good of the Empire is the good of all inteligent beings of the
Galaxy. That's what we fight for and that's our final and holy
Objective".
By chosing our new motto - Vis et Honor - we never resigned from, nor
changed, our philosophy. We just came to conclusion that, after having
won
so many battles and achieving so many honours, we have to use other
words to
decribe our status and our Virtues.
. Most imprortant for our squadron innovation, since last week was
introducing of pays - a system invented and offered to all Sigma pilots
by myself. In short: we'll get money (Imperial credits) for every
fleet-connected activity; then we'll spent them on every way, we'd like.
System has been brought into effect as an experiment to improve our
overall activity. We'll see, how it works in practice...
News below are connected to it:
- Two of our pilots, LCM Gambit, and LCM Haggis McMutton have declared
their willingness to be appointed an Accountant (ACC) - a person, who
supervises all credits operations. They also offered creation of an
indywidual database for paying-system purposes. ACC hasn't been
appointed yet, because of absence of Squadron Commander MAJ Al R.S.
- LCM Regis Knox has been named Barkeeper of "Kantyna" - Cantina's bar.
From now on every drink we order will know its cost. Two drinks prise
lists have been presented: one created by LCM Obi-Kan Kysiobi (my
favourites types: Red Rebel, Grand Moff and Coruscant :)) and BKR Regis
Knox (my types: Imperial Beauty, Meet your DESTINY!, and of course
Inky's Smile :)).
I have to add, that CPT Todbringer has proposed his own favourite...
erm... drinks, but they were so... erm... controversial, that we agree
only for one of them.
. Our internal "What-is-your-favourite-alkohol?" competition has been
closed. Results - due to low participation: ca. 40% of cantina members -
couldn't be considered as a most valid ones, but... hell - it's all for
fun, isn't? Almost forgot: most favourite drink is... beer. Surprised?
. Two of our pilots: LCM Haggis McMutton and LCM Obi-Kan Kysiobi have
agreed for a duel between them. They will fly The Patrol mission (a one
created some time ago by CM Thunder). Some of remaining Sigma pilots
have voluntereed to be "an active" witness of this duel.
. CM Duncan is a new official WebMaster of Sigma Squadron Webpage. All
other pilots should feel encouraged to help him whatever way possible.
. It's also worth of note, that our Cantina (a discussion group on
e-groups, created for Polish pilots and Star Wars fans), which - what's
important - serves only for unofficial chats has beaten another record!
From 1 to 31 August we sent 1026 messages through it! If it isn't a
"tremendous" activity, then nothing is! :)
. And, last but not least, congratulations on new FCHG ranks, pilots!
