MOMENT OF THE WEEK

On the special world debut of Episode 2, on Thursday, a TV journalist was outside the theater and approached a girl:

Journalist: Hi. If you were a Jedi, with who would you like to fight with a light saber?
Girl (surprised by the silly question) : Er... Arial Sharon.
Journalist (also surprised by the answer): Er... Ok... Thanks.
Girl: Your welcome.

(This thing actually happened, that girl is a friend of mine! I don't know yet if they put that scene on TV though)

EPISODE II IS ON:

You guessed it! I saw Episode II yesterday and lemme tell ya, it rocks! The action sequences are excellent; the ships are very well modeled (but the only XWA ship you'll find there is the Firespray); it has some good space fighting (Deimos: Bah! Those guys are all cargo pilots! Mark: Yeah, definitely!); and the mix of ironies and events will put you thinking a long time after you leave the theater about how it all integrates into the future Empire and the transformation of Anakin into Darth Vader (Spear: Hah! I know everything already. In fact, I knew it even before I saw the movie!); and Natalie Portman is hot! (I was tired of Princess Leia on Return of the Jedi anyway :P). It's also funny what happens outside the movie. Yesterday everyone was talking about SW, and friend of mine was happily playing the Imperial March on his cell phone in class; there was a full crowd of people at the entrance to the movie room just waiting for the people that accept our tickets and guide us to our seats to let us in, and before that they were asking for reinforcements to their colleagues on the floor below, and they wanted to get over with that crowd so fast that most people had almost to run to their seats. Hope those who saw the movie managed to appreciate all these events, and those who are going to see the movie don't forget that!

SQUADRON NEWS:

-Wing XI is voting for a new banner for our wing. You can see the banners in which you can vote at http://www.bluppfisk.org/~mycroft/bannerpoll/poll1.htm or http://www.geocities.com/myrlyn30/immortalpage1.html. Just mail your choice to Darksaber. Look, I can't tell you on which one to vote, but my advice is that you vote on a banner with at least one Tie Phantom in it, or no fighter at all. We can't allow to be discriminated :P
-Some actors who participated on Episode II have been kind enough to give their autographs to the Emperor's Hammer. Check them out at www.emperorshammer.org . Keep'em coming :)
-Jari is on leave for the rest of the month. The website will rarely be updated for the time being. Me and Jari are sorry for any incovenience.

Deimos maintains his lead on this exciting comp. If everyone thought that Ezop was one of the worst pilots in this squadron, forget it! His taking this comp seriously and is on a hot pursuit for Deimos. and don't think he flew 10 battles or something so far this month, this thing is all good scores and not activity. Nuno prefers free missions to battles, but can he get up there? Bobecc has passed Jari. Gunman is slowly improving his score, and Jari has theatened to get achieve a very high score in the end, so you better fly fly fly :)
-The Immortal's email group has been rather hot this week. I'm glad that you folks never get involved in these things, you are silent, but you fly and are there when I need you, and that makes you the best :) (I get involved, but some duty comes with this Immortal veteranship of mine :P)
-New FL: Pilots, lets all welcome our newest pilot and FL, LT Brenn Tantor! (Brenn Tantor, get it? That guy you play on "Force Comander, the one that defects to the Rebels. Defects? Wait a min... :P). He has transferred from Storm Squadron, on Wing XIX aboard the SSD Avenger. Brenn (man, I just sounded like Beri Tulon reading that), you'll probably find things around here a little different than on the Avenger, but it will be our pleasure to help you adapt and become a full Immortal pilot!
-With this transfer, we now have a full squadron! We are the biggest squadron in the wing, and if someone wants to come to the squadron, we get to say "No! Please try later." :P
-This just came in. The CMDR of Falcon squadron is retiring from his CMDR position :(

SQUADRON STATUS:

-For the WC Own, try to post as much messages on the message board as possible. In fact, here's an idea for a topic. I want everyone to post a review of Episode II in it. The EH wants us to do that anyway, so why not do it for a good cause :)
-Keep flying for the Bloody May, fly as much as you can. I'm very proud of this comp, this is definitely the best comp I've ever created. We are probably the most active squadron in the wing right now :)
-Roguewing has appealed everyone to come to our IRC channel, #isd_immortal, on Undernet, and fly XWA multiplayer. Take your time to practice there :)
- There is another good reason to fly, I'm afraid... since we are now full, I cannot allow to have pilots around here that are too inactive, for I need to make room for those who may want to come to the squadron and are probably going to be more active. I'm sorry, but that's the way it has to be :(
