Commentary:
Ladies and gentlemen. This week has left me feeling rather drained. Moreover, it is only the 10th. I was watching Rules of Engagement today and I had to stop. I felt a great weight in my stomach and it hurt like hell. I could only remember some of the experiences I have had when I was in the military. A friend of mine once said, “Never go to war – the images will haunt you for the rest of your life.” This is so true. The faces of people that I have known, the faces of my enemies - all are still burned in the back of my mind. We live in a world filled with violence. We have movies of violence, news of violence, and experiences of violence. We have become numb from the assault of our exposure.
I am not saying that we should stop playing violent games or that they are the cause of our violence, I am saying that sometimes we are forced to come face to face with it and for me, I am sickened. In our technological age, we can destroy people from afar. That is why war is so appealing now. We never have to see the enemy. If we still had to, war would be less appealing and scarce. Even for the strongest of us, the images we would see close up and in real life are hard to swallow. I pray that we never have to see war. I pray that if we must, we can survive and heal from the sights.
The most sobering thing in the world to see is someone you know die. Worse yet, that they die in your arms. These things I have seen and experienced. I have killed people for the simple fact that they were in a supposed drug shack. I have had one of my friends die in my arms. I have seen people split wide open and had to help put them back together. My friends, war is not glorious. War is hell. Pray we never have to see it.
5 new battles have been released this week for a total of 28 more FCHG points. Take a look, download them, and enjoy…
I have been ill this past week and have been fighting it off with everything at my disposal. Unfortunately, I have also had to start my new job. This combination has left me very tired and has prolonged my illness. I am feeling better than I was a few days ago and should be back up to par within the next couple of days.
As a reminder: FCHG 2 is due by the end of this coming week and TC 77-78 are due the week after. I may have to change the time of our monthly meeting to earlier in the day for work restrictions. I will keep you posted on this as I receive more information. Currently, the mandatory meeting is July 6th at 6 pm EDT. Remember that this meeting is mandatory for all Alpha personnel.

Respectfully,
Alpha Squadron Commander,
CMDR/CPT Talons Pryde/Alpha/Wing I/SSSD Sovereign/PCx3/ISMx3/MoI/MoT-1rh/MoC-1BoC/CoB/OV [CNTR] {IWATS-CBX-GFX-IIC/1/2-SM/2-TM-TT}.
