Squadron News

- CR#10 of the Sovereign Squadron League has come to a close, and now we await the results. The last round, the SSL Finals, has been delayed until August 8th in order to give the competition administrators time to sort out the scores, so we know who is flying against who. No word on the TIE Division, but a reliable source tells me that we have advanced to the XWA finals ... more news as it becomes available.
- The General's Sovereign Summer Patrol is still ... erm, patrolling, and I'm still very pleased to announce that all participating Omegans are still right out there in the thick of things. Excellent job by Ras, Artyis, and Ixion; keep it up guys, only a few more weeks to go!
- The Sovereign Caption Contest drew to a close this week, and I know that several of you participated. My guess is that the contest results will be announced in this week's Sov News ... regardless, I will notify you as soon as the winners are announced.
- The Flight Office has announced sweeping changes are in store for the training system. The current training system has taken a lot of criticism for quite some time now, and it will be interesting to see what changes are made. The changes themselves are being kept strictly "under wraps" until they have been approved by several key officers, so stay tuned.
- Lots of chatter this week concerning Imperial Storm IV, which is just over the horizon. You know the basics already ... it's going to be the Sovereign and her escorts vs. the rest of the fleet. I know what you're thinking ... that's kind of unfair! But don't worry, AD Proton is planning to take it easy on the rest of the fleet, only destroying those ships that fail to get out of the Sov's way before she runs them down ... ;-)
- Lastly, LC Todbringer and MAJ Artyis have started a RL gaming magazine! So the next time you're in Poland, be sure to stop by a newsstand and buy a copy!

- With the postponement of the SSL Finals, there is no Combat Run to fly this week. Use this time to rest up and prepare for the last CR ... the Finals are going to demand that we be in top form, and I definitely want us to finish out strong!
- Ixion, Ras, and Artyis ... GSSP Week 7 assignments should be out tomorrow. Keep checking the message board, or you can wait for me to e-mail the information to you. Keep up the great work, guys!
