- The Big News this week is that Omega Squadron has won both the TIE and XWA Divisions of the SSL! It took an extreme amount of dedication and piloting skill to make this possible, and I'd just like to thank each of you --
Compton : Because I know that there were times (especially during FCHG-XWA # 3) when you must have thought, "Good Lord ... I could be playing SWG instead of this right now!"
Ixion : For your dedication in earning some of the highest scores that I have ever seen from you!
Brian : For sacrificing sleep and your quest against the evil Verizon to fly when we needed you.
Ras : For consistently flying, and for having Buttercup the Mad c0w demon of Death to attack anyone who failed to fly.
Manny : Because it might have been a whole different story if you hadn't flown during the XWA SemiFinals ... and for being Buttercup's punching bag!
Grue : For excellent flying, as usual, and for being there for the squad when we needed you the most.
Todbringer : For running the TIE Division! And for great and constant flying!
Brandon : For all those tip-fests, for wonderful piloting, and for the phrase "Anal Dwelling Butt Monkey".
Artyis : For running the XWA Division, and for pointing out that if we played our cards right, we just might have a chance to do well in that division. And for being one of the best pilots in the squad!
So there you have it, gentlemen ... excellent work by all of you!
- So let's just run the numbers here ...
TIE Division
Omega Squadron : 1,426,139 pts.
Praetorian Squadron : 1,161,322 pts.
XWA Division
Omega Squadron : 295,735 pts.
Vampire Squadron : 240,308 pts.
As you can see, it was close in each division ... and too close for comfort in XWA. But still, you guys pulled it off! Congrats!
- Believe it or not, other things did happen during the last week. For instance, the General's Sovereign Summer Patrol came to an end, and I'm very pleased to announce that NO Omegans were dropped from the competition! Ixion, Ras, and Artyis all have a shiny Iron Star with Gold Wings on the way for their hard work! Nicely done, guys! - None for now ... just use this time to bask in the light of two SSL division victories. ImpStorm IV will be starting soon, AD Proton has some Sov competitions on the horizon, and I might just start up an intra-squadron competition or two ...
