Pilot Activity:
There has been no contact from Shivor Dahr for several weeks. The last word I received is that he was having computer problems.

LT Abhay Alok was able to get his home computer fixed. The only thing he needs is to do now is configure Tie Fighter for XP. He has kept in contact and promises an IWATS.

MAJ Talons Pryde has been moved to the Alpha 2-2 position. He is still experiencing computer difficulties and unable to contact.

LT Kaiser continues entrance work for the Dark Brotherhood. He is currently flying DB 08 and working his way past mission 3.

LT Arlins continues his flight activity. He had ten missions BSF’d this week and achieved a new high score for TF 228. He has moved to a new FCHG rank, Gallant. He received an Iron Star-Silver Ribbon for a fiction he submitted in the Apostomy competition. I have named him as my XO. He is just over 50 missions from passing me in FCHG points. Intends to update or create a webpage for Flight 3.

CPT Vector is remaining in contact. I have let him know that I am open to any suggestions he has for running Alpha successfully.

I assumed the command of Alpha Squadron this week. I’ve spent a couple nights playing with all the new buttons at my disposal. Successfully BSF’d some pilot files for Arlins and submitted the last five squadron reports to the database. Seeing how fast Arlins is moving up, I plan to fly as much as possible. Flew DB 08.

News:
The squadron citation hunt has begun anew with the addition of new pilots. The battles for myself and LT Arlins are below. If anyone wants to join the hunt, contact me.

Gyssler is consistent in his updating of the board so check it frequently to determine battles that you can fly. If you’re going to fly a battle, use the battleboard to determine which one you can fly to help the squadron earn another citation.

Competitions
-The Sovereign Cup has been announced and he selected the first 32 to respond. I made the list as well as Arlins; Kaiser is on the waiting list in the event of someone pulling out. The competition is a TIE-based individual competition using an elimination format to determine the winners over several rounds. Best of luck to Arlins, and Kaiser if you get the opportunity. Personal glory makes its way to the squadron. Any missions or battles flown cc to me so I can ensure they are BSF’d in the event the competition supervisors do not.

-SSL 2004 will likely start in January!

-Imperial Storm IV is scheduled to begin in early September. I don’t know what this competition is but I’m sure details will follow.

Several competitions from the TAC are currently underway or soon to be released. I see several opportunities for the squadron to make a mark and a good showing in these competitions. Details and links below:

I would like to see everyone at least submit for the #3 TAC competition. It only requires you to write out what you would do if you were TAC as far as competitions and missions/battles. CC me anything you send in. I’m going to look into TAC comp #1 and let you know what it encompasses.

General

-Overall, it’s been an active week as far as changes and fairly slow in flying. There are some good competitions around the corner and that is what I want for us to be ready for.
-I intend to make some roster changes that will streamline the squadron and give some leadership time to Arlins in the near future. Flight 2 will remain without an FL until I see what happens in the future.
-We could, of course, use some pilots. The only approved location for recruiting is the Recruitment message board so if you want to attempt to bring some action to Alpha via that route, go ahead. If you have any friends that likes computer games, show them the website and maybe it will generate some interest.
-I intend to try to update the squadron webpage or convert my Flight 2 page. If I am able to update the one that exists, I will try to rename the Flight 2 webpage for the future.
-Alpha Squadron will undoubtedly go through some changes in the future. I would like this to be a squadron for the pilots. I will listen to any suggestions and if I choose not to go the route suggested, I will provide an explanation. I only desire is to make being a member of the Tie Corps as fun and exciting as possible. My joy from the Tie Corps is the flying and the competitions. The fringe benefits that have come about are the friendships created with people that I have never met. There are opportunities and benefits available for all if you take advantage of them.
