Woody was sitting behind his desk again, knowing it was the last time he would be there he closes his eyes and lets the feelings take control of his mind. All the fine officers that served with him here in Typhoon started passing his inner eye.

COL Calli, the finest CMDR Typhoon and the whole TC ever saw. MAJ Daisuke Airyu, LC Triji Boliv, CPT Badlan, all CMDRs of Typhoon before Woody took command. All those fine pilots that served alongside him during his time as FM in Flight 1 and 3, as FL of Flight 3 and now as CMDR of Typhoon. What would they all think of him? Would they believe that it was his fault?
Some of their faces were looking truly sad, others seamed to blame Woody for the downfall of Typhoon, a really small number seamed to try to console Woody.

After the last former Typhoon pilot passed his inner eye Woody continued packing his personal things he had in his CMDR office. The pictures of the better times, some showing him with former Typhoon comrades, others with his family, his medal case, his first flight suit and his first dress uniform, the first model used by the TC, long replaced by the new ones, but still in excellent condition.

"What the hell...Step in!" he shouted out when he heard a soft knocking on the door. The door opened and the newly appointed
WC COL Master stood in the door. Woody totally surprised by Masters appearance tried to salute behind his desk and nearly stumbled over his own feet. "No need to kill yourself Woody. I'm just here to check if you are sure about your wish to transfer away from the Chal." "Yes, Sir. I've been awake all night thinking about what to do now since I heard that Typhoon would be closed. And I think that I need a bit of distance to get a clear head again." "But the Wing needs good pilots like you! We need ever man here on the Chal. That's why I ask you to reconsider it again. We have enough FM spots open for you where you would fit in." "Thanks for the flowers Sir, I'll rethink my request and let you know about my decision later, when I packed it all together here." "Ok Woody. That's all I wanted to hear." With this last words Master turned around and left the office, leaving Woody alone with his thoughts again.

No 5 minutes later he heard another voice on the door. "Step in!" he said again without looking up to see who was there.
"Heyas Woody!" he heard the voice of the newly appointed Inferno CMDR CM Quincy Nelson. "How are you doing Woody?" "How would you do if your SQ would be called 'inactive' during your command? Surely not happy!" "I can feel with you Woody, no need to be so upset!" Woody turned his attention to his belongings again when Quincy started "Don't you wonder why I am here?" "Nope." was all he got as answer. "Ok, then I'll start without further more introduction. I am here to offer you a FL spot in Inferno. I need good and active pilots, and now that you have to choose your new appointment I thought you might be willing to join Inferno." Woody turned toward Quincy with a little smile on his face "Thanks for the offer Quincy. I know that all our SQs are in need of active pilots lately. I'll think about it. That's all I can tell you at the moment. I already requested my transfer to another ship. But Master stopped this request and asked me to rethink it again. And that's what I do right now. I didn't make a final decision so far, but you'll surely be one of the first to hear about it when I mad my final choice. Is that good enough for you?" "All I can ask you to I guess." "Would it be too impolite to ask you to leave me alone now? I need my time to think over it all again." "Ok Woody. Take your time and tell me when you're done." Quincy said, turned around and left the office.

Alone again Woody called himself and idiot. 'Why didn't I take the offer of Quincy? Inferno is a fine SQ and Quincy is surely a fine officer and will be a good CMDR if he settled down.' But then he remembered his main reason for not wanting to stay. Seph. Seph didn't answer any of his reports nor any messages Woody did send him while the WC spot was open. He didn't even answer on his question about the future of Typhoon and what to do about the pilots that were AWOL, but still filling the spots in the Typhoon roster. He simply left Woody alone till Woody made his decision to remove those pilots, fating Typhoon to die. But then Seph still only asked him if it would be possible to keep Woody on the ship. No questions about the reasons, no kind words, simply the Question "Any chance you'd stay on the Chal...rather then transfer? I don't want to lose anymore pilots." on a short message from Seph. Nothing else. That was the first moment for him to believe there was no room left on the Chal where he would fit in.

But today 2 fine officers showed that there was still something left, still something he always wanted to see, something that was the reason why he stayed on the Chal even in the bad times. The comradeship. That was it what he was missing lately and that showed up again today from 2 officers he didn't realize that they had noticed him so far. And that made his mind sway again. "Maybe this isn't the right time to leave, maybe it's the time for a new start in another SQ, but still on this ship."

He finally made his choice now. "I guess I'll take Quincy's offer. It's worth the try." Speaking this out loud he took another transfer request form and filled it out.

*********

2 hours later he had finished packing together his belongings and stowed them on the corridor in front of his old office and was on his way to Masters new office, a transfer request to Inferno in his hand. His uniform was clean and arranged well, only his CMDR and Typhoon badges were removed.

He knocked on Master's door. "Step in!" he heard Master's voice from inside, opened the door and entered the room.

The desk was still filled with boxes, as was the rest of the room. Master was sitting behind the desk, trying to get all his belongings arranged in his new office. "Hello Woody. Didn't expect you here this soon." "Didn't take me very long to get my belongings out of the office. I started packing a couple of days ago, when I first thought about leaving the Chal." "Aye. Have you reconsidered your decision?" "Yes, I did. And it was a hard decision, cause there were a lot of things that made me feel like I wasn't at home here at the Chal anymore. 'Till you did show up this morning." Woody looked in Masters face, waiting for a reaction on his last words, but he could only see the friendly smile he already saw there when Master visited him in Woody's office. "I'll stay. Quincy offered me a spot in Inferno and I would like to take it." "You wont believe how glad I am to here that Woody. The job is yours!" "Here is the transfer request. If you don't mind I would like to move my things to my new quaters now." "Ok Woody. Dismissed!"

With a little tear in his eyes Woody left Master's office, knowing that this was the last step on Typhoons long and pride history. Typhoon had a lot of proud moments, some of them Woody was involved into, some not, but the saddest moment in this history was only one, the moment Woody had to admit that Typhoon was finally dead. And that was now.
