- SQUADRON NEWS -

  • Final scores for the Intrepid Activity competition have been released. Krayt won but we got 2nd and very close to them despite the fact we have been focused on SSL during almost the entire competition. Anyway, the title of Top Dawg goes to CPT Tvan'Oris who got the best Individual Score with 649 points and also won the GFX Division, congratulations! Many thanks to CM Jifarr who got 4th overall and helped us a lot with all his flying activity, as for me...too bad TAC was on leave and he couldn't process High Scores fast ;-)
  • Now that SSL is over I bet that you want to take a break from our usual "fly a mission to break High Scores" routine (personally the idea to fly another single mission for HS give me the creeps right now...), for this reason I started a new gfx competition: Celebration! You can read all the details below. Also, don't forget to send me your gfx for the Diamondback Banner gfx contest, deadline is September the 6th and since this comp is open to all pilots of Wing XIV, winner will receive a shining IS-SR!

  • More comps, more medals. Training Officer competition is still on and there are several interesting events, moreover winners of each category will receive the rare Imperial Star with Platinum Ribbon! Our dear BGCOM, AD Darksaber, has created several new comps as well and you can read all details below in the Competitions Report.
  • As I mentioned before the position of Operations Officer (OPS) is still TBA. This is the reason why you still haven't received medals for SSL or MSE, anyway it's good to think that half of the new OPS backlog will be due to our squadron! ;-)
  • Complete scores for SSL 2003 have been released and I attached them to this report. Once again, I wish to thank everyone who participated in the competition. It doesn't matter if you never won a round or if you never broke an High Score, all pilots of the squadron did an amazing work as shown by the XvT final, where the first positions were entirely occupied by us. Top Aces can't win squadron competitions on their own, on the contrary teamwork always pay: we mixed good scores with good participation and this the reason why we ruled the XvT division and got 3rd in XWA!

  • EH Racing League

    An announcement for Lieutenant Commander Rem Somnos:

    Announcing the EH Racing League. On September 1st DarkFyre on #ehcoc will be able to handle XWA multi-player racing. Players will be able to participate in one on one to free for all heats. DarkFyre will of course handle the scoring.

    Check out the EH Racing League website at www.ehracingleague.minos.net for details. Bot commands can be found on the RULES page, and also check out the tournament schedule. WCs, and BGCOMs have the opportunity to create a graphics comp for the floating cup for their respective Wings and Battle groups. *hint hint*

    If you have been receiving a lot of emails recently with "returned mail" in topic, then you can be infected with W32/Sobig-F virus. I have been infected myself, so if you have received any emails from pbmike@klub.chip.pl, ingore them and delete them right away (I never send from this addy).

    I have visited Sophos website and they have simple cure. Download their latest patch and run C:\SOPHTEMP\RESOLVE.COM -DF=SOBIG.DAT -NOC (unzip patch to SOPHTEMP directory on C:. (win9x).
