For the week ending Sept 25, 2003:

This report is a little earlier than normal because I am getting married and going away for the weekend. Arlins can handle any questions you have in my absence if they can’t wait until Sunday.

Pilot Activity:
There has been no contact from Shivor Dahr for several weeks. The last word I received is that he was having computer problems. His email address is inoperative. If there is no contact by November 1st, he will be considered AWOL.

LT Abhay Alok has fixed his computer and is setting up Tie Fighter for XP. Currently flying TC 1 and promised to fly for the competition with Delta Squadron.

MAJ Talons Pryde has been moved to the Alpha 2-2 position. Haven’t talked to him in a few weeks. He was experiencing computer difficulties and unable to contact.

LT Kaiser completed entrance work for the Dark Brotherhood. He completed the DB 8 requirement and has had it posted to his combat record. He is currently flying TC 2 and I expect that he will fly any upcoming competitions.

LT Arlins continues his flight activity. He flew TC 78 for the week and brought Alpha another squadron citation. He is working on a Flight Three website. He has been very active on the message boards.

CPT Vector is remaining in contact. He is keeping busy in school.

I gave Gyssler a password for myself so I can update the battleboards. Much appreciation goes out to his creation. A competition between Alpha and Delta has been submitted for approval. Tensions are high. I submitted DB 8 and await for it to be processed.

News:
The squadron citation hunt has begun anew with the addition of new pilots. The battles for myself and LT Arlins are below. If anyone wants to join the hunt, contact me.

Gyssler is consistent in his updating of the board and has also given me access, so check it frequently to determine battles that you can fly. If you’re going to fly a battle, use the battleboard to determine which one you can fly to help the squadron earn another citation.

Competitions
-Delta vs. Alpha is soon to be a reality. The competition has been submitted and is awaiting approval. Dates will be 29 Sep - 17 Oct. Award will be an IS-BW. The battles used are TC 22 and XWA TC 20. Fly what platform you can, but I want max participation. The winning squadron is the one with the highest average score.

-The Sovereign Cup has been announced and he selected the first 32 to respond. I made the list as well as Arlins; Kaiser is on the waiting list in the event of someone pulling out. The competition is a TIE-based individual competition using an elimination format to determine the winners over several rounds. Best of luck to Arlins, and Kaiser if you get the opportunity. Personal glory makes its way to the squadron. Any missions or battles flown cc to me so I can ensure they are BSF’d in the event the competition supervisors do not. Competition starts around October 3.

-SSL 2004 will likely start in January!

-Imperial Storm IV is scheduled to begin in early September. We can fly both TF and XWA so give as much support as possible to help the Sovereign to victory. I hope to learn how to install XWA missions and give a hand.

Several competitions from the TAC are currently underway or soon to be released. I see several opportunities for the squadron to make a mark and a good showing in these competitions. Details and links below:

I would like to see everyone at least submit for the #2 TAC competition. There are only a few days to submit. Submissions can be in html or doc format. It only requires you to write out what you would do if you were TAC as far as competitions and missions/battles. CC me anything you send in. I’m going to look into TAC comp #1 and let you know what it encompasses.

General

-A fairly quiet week but competitions are ongoing and upcoming. Let’s get to work.

-I am still waiting for an amount of time to see if MAJ Talons comes back and see what he wants to do. When the time comes, I will make a decision about the FL spot for Flight Two.

-We could, of course, use some pilots. The only approved location for recruiting is the Recruitment message board so if you want to attempt to bring some action to Alpha via that route, go ahead. If you have any friends that likes computer games, show them the website and maybe it will generate some interest. Post a message and let me know. We’ll post on each others post to make the post look more appealing.

-I have created a page for the squadron and its link is on the Alpha Squadron TC page. I intend to keep it updated.
