Omega Report # 0 (2003-10-20)

This report was submitted by GN Sasquatch

<<< As Submitted By FL/COL Brian / Omega 2-1 >>>
<<< Acting Omega Squadron Commander, 10.17.03 -- 10.21.03 >>>

Since Sasquatch isn't here, he's asked me to get something remotely
resembling a squadron report out.

I think I still remember how to do those...

Important News:
- .zip Mission Compendium put on-line, thanks to Compton's efforts. EHBL
remains the project of the SCO and TAC, but the .zip compendium is
restored. For IS IV, SSSD Sov Killboard, and other competitions, this is
VERY good news as they can proceed unimpeded with the various technical
difficulties caused by the EHBL.

- EHBL problems: Check the TC Message Board and TC Homepage first.
Individual pilots, send EHBL issues you are unable to resolve to the SCO
and TAC, they will personally help you correct any issues.

From the GA himself:
> > FA mBind/FA Mike...You are hereby requested to put up the EH ZIP
>battles/Mission Compendium back online on the TAC website until this program
>is working @ 100%
.

Only up until 1 January 2004, per the TC news post:
http://battles.tiecorps.net/old/

From AD Proton:
> > Sov flags, please instruct all pilots with EHBL problems to scour the TC
> > news pages and the TC message boards for answers to EHBL problems; if
> > they can't get it working after that, they should e-mail the TAC at
> > tac@emperorshammer.org and the Science Office at sco@emperorshammer.org.

SSSD Sov/TIE Corps News:
- Imperial Storm IV is now back on track! AD Pel has reappeared and all
things are a go... no new action yet as far as I am aware of, but I don't
get all of those e-mails either...

- Wing V closed due to low membership. (!) Aleth and Beth squadron in Wing
III are reopened thanks to the additional members received from the closure
of Wing V.

- Three WC spots open: IX, XI, XIX. THREE WC spots are open-- incredible.
Back when I was Wing VI WC, everyone wanted WC spots, the thought of three
being open at once boggles my mind (and Joe's mind, I'm quite sure...).

- New Flight Office site: http://flightoffice.minos.net

SSSD Sov events:
- AD Proton and the SSSD Sovereign Killboard are now active. Anyone we feel
like challenging...? Now that the .zip compendium is back, I think we're in
shape for a challenge or two.

http://www.imperialmight.org/killboard.html

> What do you (as a WC, CMDR, FL or individial pilot) need to do to gain
> recognition on the Killboard?
>
> 1) Challenge a non-Sovereign wing to a competition.
> 2) Challenge a non-Sovereign squadron to a competition.
> 3) Challenge a non-Sovereign flight to a competition.
> 4) Challenge a non-Sovereign pilot to a competition.
> 5) Challenge a non-EH unit or EH subgroup unit to a competition.

Squadron News:
- GN Sasquatch is on leave, from last Friday to this Monday. He's left me
in charge, although due to our more than adequate supplies of alcohol
already available to us, I don't expect any raids on his private alcohols
supplies or anything.

Nor do I expect to need to borrow his pets for behavior enforcement.

- Artyis completes KotOR (Knights of the Old Republic) on XboX. Sounds like
fun!

Random stuff:
- http://theholo.net/mb/viewtopic.php?t=9120 Possible Jedi Academy mod, to
use it as a Flight Sim...?

That's it for the moment. Hopefully Sas is enjoying his vacation...
