Phantom Squadron Report Captain Aeolus reporting in for Phantom Squadron on Oct.25, 2003, Greetings. This report doubles as both my first report, even though Tygra wrote one yesterday, and my own introduction to the squadron. I just wanted to get off to an early start and let you know me, and try and get a chance to know you. I'll start out about myself, go into some ideas I have for the squadron, and then talk about what's going on in the Wing that chances are you should be knowing about.
About myself... I am a native of the Immortal, I've been around on this ship for more hours than I care to count. From both the profile as you see it now as well as past ones. I joined the Emperor's Hammer in January of 2000 so coming up in a couple months will be my 4 years with the EH. It's hard to track my history because of my time with the Intelligence Division. However after six months or so with Vampire, I have gotten my chance to help this squadron keep itself on top. I've heard great things about Phantom and I hope I get a chance during my time hear to not only see these things with my own eyes but create some myself. As far as real life goes, I'm a sophomore at the University of Oregon studying business marketing. I'm 19, at least for now, and I've basically lived in Oregon my entire life. For those that didn't know, I just found out that BubbaX himself is also from Oregon although no, I haven't gotten a chance to bug him in real life yet.
About Phantom... EGroup: Is anybody against the idea of a Phantom egroup? Or does one already exist? If not I'll see to it that one gets created in time for next weeks report.
Nicknames & Mottos: I like tradition, and mottos are one of few places it can exist in a squadron. However what does the current squadron think? Keep them or is it time for a change?
Squadron Banner: I like it but it might be time for change. Tell me yes or no on your thoughts about a competition for a new banner?
About the future...
Citations: I like the fact the squadron already has 49 citations but there is always a higher goal. Look for citation assignments on future reports so you can know what you need to fly to get the squadron more citations. Also if every pilot could please email me what platforms they can fly, so I know what assignments I can give.
Flight Leaders: I don't request reports of flight leaders, but I do expect them to be leaders in the squadron. Hence the name flight "leader". It is my duty as commander to support the members of the squadron, but I hope that my flight leaders will help support members of their wing.
Squadron Reports: I will try and release the report every Friday. You will understand more about how I format them as you read more of them. In the future.
Competitions: I would like to see members of the squadron getting medals, and getting these best is by having competitions. I will do my best to hold a lot of competitions in the future, starting next week to make sure that you all have many chance to fly, and be rewarded.
Open Door: I like to have an open door policy. I don't want any of you to ever be afraid to complain, or argue with me about anything. I won't hold it against you, I take critisizm very well, even in reguards to my spelling abilities. If you have any ideas for a competition just ask. If you think you deserved a medal I forgot about just ask and I'll make sure it gets resolved. If you think you deserve a promotion, ask me and I'll tell you why you don't have one yet. Never be afraid to address any concern you have with me.
In Fleet News:
- The Flight Officer is looking for a new banner for the TCCOM's own award. The rewards are pretty good, especially for first place. If you have graphics abilities and make a graphic, send it to Cyric and Rapier by Nov. 27th.
- The TAC put up mirrors to the old zip files for people who have had problems with the EHBL. This is only for people who can't get it to work and they will be taken offline at the end of this year. If you have problems email the TAC, SCO, and CA:SCO and the'll help.
In Squadron News and Activities:
- Phantom Squadron has a new Commander. Me! Drinks are on me for the rest of the week.
- If you want to show off your skills, the best way to do this is Multiplayer flying! #ehcoc on undernet is the location to be for all multiplayer events using XWA and XvT! Now with all day competitions!
- The squadron has no webpage. If anybody could make one please tell me. Hopefully we can get a webpage up soon.
- I hear Phantom just finished up a competition with Panther. I don't know about this but I intend to make sure we see more competitions like this in the future, with wins.
In Wing News and Activities:
- Captain Aeolus is promoted to Phantom Commander and Aresis Lothorekith is promoted to Falcon Commander.
- The Wing seems to like it when people fly. So, flying would make Locke a happy COM.
- I have to look into what sorts of ongoing competitions are going on but I know there is one for Squadron and Pilot of the Month. Good luck to everyone.
- Come chat in #ISD_Immortal on the undernet. I'm usually always there and have at least something to say with varying levels of importance.
