Squadron News

- First off, I want to welcome our newest member, LC Yoman! Yoman comes to us from Wing V, having most recently commanded Mem Squadron. It's a pleasure to have you here with us, Yoman!
- Unfortunately, we have lost a member this week. CM Ras Kronar has moved on to become Psi Squadron CMDR over in Wing II, my old stomping grounds! Good luck over there, Ras -- we'll all miss you. The mind reels when you consider that Psi, one of the most alcoholic squads in the fleet, is now being commanded by a ... a ... a milk drinker! ;-)
- COM/AD Proton has been forced to take a brief medical leave. He should be returning to us very soon, and he has recently been appointed as the Professor of Squadron Management III ! WC/GN Stele of Wing II is acting SovCOM until Proton returns from flirting with the pretty nurses and reading racy magazines all day.
- Medals, medals everywhere! Our Irons Stars with Platinum Wings from the SSL dual championship arrived this week. Congratulations on a job well done to the following pilots :

- Congratulations to LC Todbringer, who has been awarded the Silver Star of the Empire! Tod has received this prestigious award for his involvement with the running and smooth operation of the SSL, and for coordinating the TIE Division.
- Congratulations to MAJ Artyis, who has also been awarded the Silver Star of the Empire! Artyis has received this award for his efforts during the running of the SSL, and for coordinating the XWA Division.
- More congrats are in order for LC Todbringer, as he has also received the Iron Star with Gold Wings for finishing 2nd in the TIE Division individual standings of the SSL!
- Congratulations to LC Brandon, who has been awarded the Iron Star with Silver Wings for finishing 2nd in the individual standings during the SSL playoffs!
- Congratulations to COL Ixion Deathbringer, who has received the Iron Star with Bronze Wings for finishing 4th place in the TIE Division individual standings during the SSL!
- More congrats go out to MAJ Artyis, who has been awarded the Iron Star with Bronze Wings for finishing 4th place in the XWA Division individual standings during the SSL!
- Moving away from medals for the moment ... we've had some new high scores set! Great work by LC Brandon, who now holds mission high scores for TC-TIEs # 27, 35 and 59, as well as CAB-TIE # 2. Also, Brandon now holds the top spot for FREE-XWA # 20. Nice flying, Brandon!
- GN Compton celebrated his eighth anniversary as a member of the Emperor's Hammer this week! That's quite a few years, and very few people can top an OV-8E. Glad you're still with us C, and here's to eight more years!
- LC Brandon recently celebrated his fifth anniversary as well! Five years -- nothing to sneeze at. Glad you're still here Brandon, don't even THINK about retiring! ;-)
- COL Brian will be celebrating his anniversary in about 2 weeks as well. Brian, be sure to remind me. I WILL forget ...
- Following the retirement of HA Priyum, a new "Evil FO" has been chosen ... congratulations to FA Cyric! Cyric is already proving to be very speedy when it comes to roster changes! I understand he has some preliminary plans for 'consolidating' the TIE Corps rosters due to under-population, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out. Those of you who were here a few years back -- we've been through this before, right?
- Lastly, the wave of medals this week did not pass me by, and I have managed to snag two IS-PWs and a Silver Star. Not too shabby, thank you very much, gentlemen!
Squadron Orders
--------------------------
- LC Todbringer's next project is the Sovereign Cup 2003, which will concentrate on individual flying (as opposed to the SSL's concentration on squadron team-work). Also, the Sov Cup has been limited to only 32 participants, in order to foster competition. Although it's too late now to apply for the Sov Cup, I'm happy to announce that COL Ixion Deathbringer, LC Yoman, and MAJ Artyis have all signed up, so let's be sure to cheer for our Omegans to have a great performance! Tod expects the first mission to be released on the 3rd of October, so keep your engines warm, SovCup pilots!
- Imperial Storm IV : The BattleGroups' Revenge is set to begin this Friday, once COM/AD Proton has returned from his medical leave. Notice that IS IV is now being referred to as "The BattleGroups' Revenge" instead of "Sink the Sov". I still think they should take my suggestion and call it "The Mighty Wrath of the Huge Freakin' Sov"!

You will see the war room sight evolve and grow as the wargame progresses, but the plan is for this to be your one and only stop to see what's happening for the Sov Team in ImpStorm IV. Be prepared, we're going into battle against the BGs on Friday ... !

- SWG Planetary Operations : I really didn't accomplish much in SWG this week. I ran a few Imp missions, got enough faction points to purchase a stormtrooper bracer (all I need is the other bracer now, and I'll have the full suit of stormie armor), and made enough credits to pay the rent on my house. I tried to organize another patrol of Bestine, this time giving everyone a week's notice by posting on the PA's message board; however, this was a terrible failure, as nobody showed up. And then I bought JK II : Jedi Academy and, once I got it working, SWG took a back seat ;-)
- New Blood : With Yoman in the squad, we still have three empty spots to fill. Expect another New Blood email to be hitting your inboxes soon. Also, as always, keep your eyes open for possible Omegans!
