Greetings, everyone!
What is it with the year 2000? I'm not into the Y2K crap, but gotta admit, there is something special going on...before you think that I've lost it, allow me to explain: since the beginning of this year, Mem has had cadets joining on a weekly basis. About a month ago there were only 3 of us, but this week brought the pilot count back to six! And there has even been some outward traffic as well. However, I'm not complaining; the goal is to see Mem Squadron in full strenght (read: 12 pilots) before another new year!
Ok, after all that ranting, let's get on with the report :
Squadron News :
- I'm happy to say that another new pilot has joined the ranks of our squadron: please welcome SL BlackHero ( pmc00@worldnet.att.net)! He has been assigned to position 3-2. Maybe we'll get the third flight full soon...
- More good news : LT Xander Tirr was awarded an Imperial Security Medal (ISM) by his old CMDR, MAJ Es'mith. Congratulations...and I might congratulate myself also, as I got a Medal of Instruction this week! This was for recruiting LT Jackson (thanks [:-)] )
- The TIE Corps domain, after much trouble with the former server, has (again) moved into a new one. Let's just hope that this will be the last move we'll see for a long time, and that the CrystalTech can provide better service than the previous servers.
Other Stuff :
- It's MSE time soon again, so...you guessed it : I need a report of your "other activities" for this month. For our new members, these activities include attended IRC meetings, online competitions and such. Generally everything that I can't be aware of unless you tell me about it.
- Some problems have emerged with the Mem website. The pages don't update very well, sometimes it takes days to change a simple thing. Don't know why this is happening, but it's just something we all have to live with. On a more positive side, I wrote my INPR and put it up to the site...read it if you like. Also available is LT Xander Tirr's story.
Ongoing Events :
- Squadron League round 2 is on. The mission is FREE-TIE Omicron Squadron Reload, deadline 31st January. I'm more than happy to say that again all MEMbers (excluding SL BlackHero) participated to the contest. Keep the pace up and I'm compelled to reward you! The results of the previous round will (hopefully) be published tomorrow at the SSSD Sov website (http://sov.tsx.org )
- Training Office Comp. #5 is proceeding in the background, with 3/5 missions available. The next mission will be my design, by the way. Check the TO site for details : http://www.impstar.net/to/comp5 FCHG Rankings :
Notice the dramatic increase in my points...I went totally nuts last weekend and flew some battles. Apparently, I made some new high scores and got a whole lot more points than I anticipated!
