ISDII Warrior Report # 8 (2014-05-25)

This report was submitted by COM/HA Frodo March/ISDII Warrior

High Admiral Frodo March reporting for the ISD-II Warrior on this Sunday 25th of May 2014.

Commodore's Thoughts

This week was eventful. Official welcome to SL Jacktheripper who was recruited by MAJ Jedgar and placed in Sin Squadron, where he was promptly promoted to full LT for earning a LoC. Welcome aboard.

Also welcome to SL Dact41 who just joined Sin Squadron yesterday.

Sin Squadron is now up to 5 members, and still has a vacant FL position. Anyone who wants to fill said position should contact CPT Plif.

This week also saw all April MoCs get awarded. See the Awards sections for more details. Let it be known that lots of people got some, which is an encouraging sign when it comes to communications activity.

The big surprise this week was the arrival of our newest oldest Kappan. Welcome back LC Tempest, who leaves the M/FRG Phoenix adrift somewhere along it's pleasure planet cruise (Nobody else was qualified to drive it...) in order to simply destroy everyone at TIE Fighter, like you read about. Which leads me to announcing the competition results!

I would like to point out that even though only five pilots submitted pilot files for this competition, 3 of them submitted twice. Regardless, they could not beat Tempest, who forcefully rammed his way to victory. All five participants did beat my score, and will be awarded the IS-BW.

Here are the full results:

LC Tempest 58,650
MAJ Jedgar 55,954
GN Yoda 55,810
CPT Flelm 55,738
CPT Plif 55,279

With the high score, LC Tempest is named Commodore protector until the next competition. Which is nice since I apparently am terrible at flying. He will be awarded the IS-GW promptly, and can add said title to his ID line. Second place is MAJ Jedgar who will be named Commodore's Wingman and awarded the IS-SW. GN Pickled Yoda will be awarded a second IS-BW and also given the honorific title of Commodore's Wingman.

Here is the honorary roster:

COMMODORE'S FLIGHT - TIE FIGHTER
Nickname: "Frothy's Defenders"
Motto: "Too Cool for Lasers"
[1] HA Frodo March
[2] LC Tempest
[3] MAJ Jedgar
[4] GN Pickled Yoda

Well done all participants. Flelm is the alternate if any of those three get too damn hung over to save my bacon... I heard the Kappa Gold was back in town. No, the plaque for the alternate is NOT in the ladies room.

From the Bridge of the Warrior

This week I'd like to announce the appointment of our new Wing Commander. Colonel Gilbert H. Frown.

Colonel Frown is known for being very irritable with craft losses occasioned by poor wingman coverage, but he is fine with you telling all your wingman to go home, and mopping up the whole enemy fleet by yourself. In order to better know our new Wing Commander, let's have a Q & A.

Q1: You look familiar. Have we served together before?

A1: No. We haven't. What kind of question is that?

Q2: Well... Do you have a twin?

A2: Several. Don't remind me. One of them serves on the Hammer. I asked mother to stop sending him Christmas cards but she refused. Some sort of crap about loving us all equally, she says.

Q3: Oh cool! So, how many missions have you flown?

A3: None. That sounds dangerous.

Q4: You mean... You've never actually flown a TIE Fighter?

A4: Well sure... In the simulator. I'm much more comfortable with staying here. My last job mostly involved making sure pilots understood the briefing, but usually I withheld just enough information for them to have a good time. It's pretty boring when you know everything up front, like exactly how many A-wings with Advanced missiles there are... Of course if Dempsey made the battle then there's probably at least 60. That's a safe bet.

Q5: Why did you transfer?

A5: I got fired.

Q6: Care to elaborate?

A6: No. But I guess I have to. I have anger issues. This one guy got a super nice score, hit all his lasers and warheads... Even got promoted! But then he totally let one of his pig headed AI wingmen die, so I let him have it! BAM! Right in the kisser.

Q7: I see... Well! That's all the time we have today. Thank you for the interview. Do you have anything you want to add?

A7: Yes. You all better fly accurately and professionally. Maybe, just maybe if you do well, one day, I'll smile. Well... More like a half smirk. If you're lucky.

Conclusion

Enjoy the next week's competition hiatus. Naturally you can concentrate on any Squadron and fleet competitions in the meantime, but it would be a good time to relax and wait for June first. I plan on just flying that day... Well, unless my wife wants me to do yard work. But once that yard work is done... Watch out Hammer! ...Watch out!
