Lieutenant Colonel Carl Lost reporting in for the Squadron of Sin for this week

Today is a holiday. I kno wit's "Frohnleichnahm" in Germany, but I won't translate it since there mUst be a special expression in English and translating it word by word would a) be runaway english and b) be seriously offending I fear...

Therefore I won't translate but say that I have seen some free and unflown battles. There is a discrepancy between our precataclysm battle citations and our current one of about 4 battles. I ask thee to seriously control your battles flown in your roster with your personal records and if differences are found, resend be the pilotfiles so I may resubmit them ! I want us above 100 citations !

In regards to the EHBL, relay and submit each and every trouble you have to my so I may relay it to the appropriate authorities. Be assured strongly that TAC is more than willing to help if they know their help is needed and appreciated.

****Sovereign Fiction and Flying Competition (ship wide competition hosted by CPT Viper)

Sovereign Fiction and Flying Competition
-CPT Viper has created a new competition that is approved by SOVCOM/AD Proton

• This competition will be in 2 parts the first those involved will be given the information that they will use to write a story involving all Wings of the SSSD Sovereign. This will include 4 missions discribed in detail. From the winning story I will then create 3 battles 1 for TIE 1 For XvT and 1 For XWA from the missions described there in. part 1 of the competition will end 05-31-04 (note: Admiral Proton, General Stele Pellaeon and myself will judge this part of the competition) From 06-01-04 to 07-01-31 I will create and test the battles. On 08-01-04 part 2 will begin and theose involved will fly the platform of choice and turn their pilot files in to their commanders who will zip and forward them to me by 12:00AM 09-01-04 to be tallied and winners decided.

[Reminder] The EHSPs back up all important game files.

The Emperor's Hammer Ship Patches for TIE, XvT and BoP make a full backup of all important files in those games upon installation. This means that you can use it to restore your game installation might you have screwed that up in some way:

After you've newly installed TIE, XvT or BoP and installed any needed update patches (like 1.14 for XvT) install EHSP into a permanent folder ([Game folder]/EHPatch for example.) and keep it installed.
To restore your fresh install of the game: uninstall EHSP, reinstall it, and its all fine again... which saves you having to reinstall the game from CD again.

This left the position of Wing XX Wing Commander open. Here as new wing Commander MAJ Archangel has been appointed.

Missing Medals

I realize there are probably about 1000 medals missing because of the database loss. The good news is that a couple of smart COMs already re-submitted these medals today, so we're on our way to getting these medals back. COMs/WCs: One of you from each wing is to re-submit the lost medals back into the database. It is up to you how you want to do this (compile them from CMDRs, automated e-mails, etc.), as long as you don't submit the old medals more than once and cause some backlog problems. It is also up to you whether or not you wish to include the old recommendation, but make sure to put as the last line "Due to Database Loss", so I'll be able to tell new medals from old ones. Thanks for the cooperation, and hopefully we'll be able to work through this quickly.

Also, for those of you who have been personally e-mailing me with your lost medals, unless it's a rare case where it's a Command Staffer or BGCOM, these mailings should go to your CMDR and on to the COM so they can be resubmitted into the database. This is the easiest and most efficient way.

Resubmitting some of Mick's battles got him sone nice HS, so be aware that you're possibly giving away free HS'ses from your own ;)
