Spectre Squadron Report for 03/06/05


Well first off can i say welcome everyone to the new and improved Spectre Squadron. Its great to have you all here and thank you for all answering my summons. I hope to see a good new time ahead for this squadron.

Apologies to the Spectre pilots if they get this twice, i wasnt sure whether you were on the ATF group or not...

News/New CMDRs Speech

Well obviously the main news is that we are all here, but you probably realised that...

Now i want to build a great squadron here. I want us to be one of the best.

For starters we need to recruit. Lets fill up this squadron. Im slowly making my way through the reserves to if you guys want to start looking at the cadets or trying outside things such as SW message boards etc. Remember that you cant specifically ask cadets to join the squad, but you can help them out with training and give them some friendly "advice".

Secondly - advertising. Chris has already said he is going to make some battle based on Spectre, which is great. I want to build a website as well. However it needs to be all spangly to fit with my plans so it cant be the usual trash i create. If anyone is a god of web design then ill pass it over to them otherwise i will need someone to do the graphics for it. A nice shiny frame for it would be a start. If there is anyone in the squad who is good with that stuff then let me know. Otherwise, try and recruit someone :)

While on the subject of graphics, the squadron banner on the on the TC site is rubbish (no offence if the creator is around) so lets try and get ourselves a new one. A nice shiny one with a big scary ghost thing on it. Good stuff.

Also i want this to be our squadron as well, since we are basically inventing it from scratch. Therefore if anyone has any good ideas for a new motto or nicknames for either the squadron or the flights, post it to the email group and we shall all let you know what we think.

Finally like all good Commanders i have no original ideas so if anyone wants to see anything or has a good idea for a competition or something then let me know.

Competitions

Because its the grand reopening of a squadron ive decided to start a shed load of new competitions. They havnt been approved yet, but hopefully they will so ill tell you about them all now.


**The Spectre Squadron Grand Reopening Competition**

Firstly we have basic flying competitions. I wasnt sure which platforms you people mostly flew so ive done a different one for each platform.

The 3 battles are -

TIE-TC 221
XvT-TC 108
XWA-TC 43

Fly well gentlemen.

Next is a trivia competition. Answer the 10 questions below and send them to me. The first person to correctly answer all questions will win the medal. If noone answers them correctly then the person who answers the most correct in the fastest time will be the winner.

Finally the most important part of the competition. Now i have discovered a new platform which is very underused in EH. So without further ado..

**The Spectre Squadron Grand Reopening Solitaire Competition**

Thats right, click those start buttons, load up solitaire and pop a screenshot of your highest score along to me. Highest score wins an IS-BR!

Settings for solitaire are as follows - Draw One card at a time and Standard scoring. make sure the status bar and times game boxes are checked as well.

**All events run until the end of March**


One finaly competition which will be a monthly thing until we are full -

Spectre Recruitment Competition: Recruit from the reserves or PLT Daedulus to Spectre and the person with the most at the end of the month wins himself an IS-BR.

There will be given certain, SW-related subject and there will be created for purpose of this competition yahoo egroup (plain text messages only, no attachments).
All participators (egroup will be only through invitation needed to be replay to sign in) will have to mail the egroup with his/her thoughts, opinions etc. about given subject.

"Mission Creation Incentive Competition" (competition ID #11719)

EH-wide - The pilot who submits the most battles to the Tactical Office each month for the next three will receive an IS-PR (as long as its more then 3 battles). And an IS-GR to the pilot who submits the most Free Missions for those three Months (as long as its more then 5 missions)

"Whose line was it anyway?" (competition ID #1699

EH-wide - This is an ongoing affair. This competition focuses primarily on everyday IRC conversation - specifically the outright hilarious ones. Therefore, the person deemed to have submitted the funniest quote each week will be rewarded, and immortalised on the COMM site and my weekly reports. All submissions (in ONE e-mail please :P) are to be e-mailed to ehcomm@gmail.com by 10pm Sunday AEST (6am EST) each week. You can submit as many quotes as you want each week, but only one medal per person will be awarded. A bonus medal at the end of each month for the Funniest Person of the Month. Only rules are no swearing or grossly indecent content.
