Avenger Squadron News:

Welcome to a new year, Avengers! 2002 saw us go to new heights, and I expect 2003 will be a banner year as well.
Welcome LT Mykos to Avenger! He won the EH XvT WoW, and and with a 30-9 record pending disputes, dominated the EH record in XWA WoW as well. The next nearest pilot had 7 wins. I'm sure he will contribute mightily to Avenger.
ASF Supremacy Comp 5 is on now. A 3-member squadron (Krayt) has an early lead in the Escort Squadron category. I have been ill, and have only contributed one point. :( That will change this weekend, however. MP is of course the primary focus for us, but SP is important as well. Remember, only January activity will be counted, so any LoCs that are awarded for December activity will not count in this comp.

Ace003 dominated the monthly IS awards, winning Beat the Commander, FCHG gain, CR Gain, and Avenger Ace! Congratulations!

Current Competitions:

- There are currently several competitions running at the Squadron level, the Battlegroup level, and the Fleet-wide level. Avengers should participate in as many of these as possible.

Fleet-wide Competitions:

#ehcoc MP Events Several Multiplayer Competitions take place weekly in #ehcoc. You can find a schedule of competitions at The Combat Office .
Week of War: These are hosted at BSC and flown on the Zone. XWA WoW for December just ended, but January WoW will count for SC5. Info can be found at Battlestats or on theZone. All Avengers should participate at these!
Battlegroup Competitions:

BGCOM's ASF Supremacy Comp 5 The Supremacy comp 5 is now up and running! I would like to see a repeat as Escort Squadron for the ASF. Details can be found at http://www.minos.net/~autoris/ We are off to a slow start, but this is a marathon, not a sprint, so I expect much activity in the coming days. Many thanks to Zoron and Quicksilver for their entries.


Avenger competitions:

Avenger Iron Star Competitions Each month Avenger Hosts Five Iron Star Competitions. The Competitions consist of: FCHG-The Pilot who gains the most FCHG in a month, CR-The Pilot who gains the most CR in a month, Avenger Ace-The Pilot who earns the most Pilot of the Week awards in a month, Graphics-The pilot who submits the best graphics in a month, Beat The CMDR-The Pilot who beats the CMDR in a head on MP match.
New Flight Names If you can design new flight names, that I like, you will win a Iron Star. They were just renamed, but if you have Ideas I like, I will consider them anytime.
Recruitment Avenger Pilots will be awarded a Iron Star Bronze Ribbon for recruiting new Pilots!

CMDR's Thoughts

Pilot of the Week: Zoron, with QS in a close second! Thanks for your dedication, we have picked up an additional 4 citations and not lost any with the addition of Mykos. These acts will not go unrewarded! I want to be the first squadron to hit 300 citations. A major award could be in the works for us if we can reach that level.

SC5: Again, we are off to a slow start, due to my illness and that of my daughter. This activity will pick up this weekend. Watch out all, Avenger is on it's way to the top of the Escort squadron rankings! Anything but first place is less than we are capable of. MP, SP, web design, battle/mission creation are all parts of this comp. Do what you are best at!

New pilots: With the addition of Mykos, we are in a GREAT position for the rest of the SC5. I'm very excited to have Mykos on board. Any new pilot should have at LEAST 1000 FCHG or we will take a major citation hit. Those who have TC-TIE, look and fly what we don't have citations for. Thos who have not flown TC-TIE 192-199 should. We only need one more pilot to fly most of those for 8 more citations. I still need to fly a few of them , and that will happen this weekend. Let's kick the tires and light the fires!
