  •   Commander's notes

Let me start off this report by stating I am a very happy camper.... EVERY SINGLE PILOT (except yours truly, but that's probably just a delay) has been awarded a medal for activity in November. Yeehaw!

Let me also say that I am not a happy camper - participation in the End of Year Bash is far from acceptable, and lack of participation is not only too bad for you, but also the others. Remember, with good participation levels, not ONE but TWO pilots win a medal at the end! Plus, you can win something other than an IS-BR for a change! So get to it!

You may note tghis report's a wee bit later than usual. That's because a] I was hoping to still get a Flight Report, and b] I was flying my ass off in order to beat Woody in the monthly Ace competition. Since I've decided this is my last heavy duty flying month, I'm not gonna let that IS-GW miss my inbox :)

And yes, I do not apologize to the TCCOM for flooding his inbox with pilotfiles. After all, he might get borted. It's gonna be an interesting 3 weeks for him :)

This doesn't mean I'm gonna stop flying though, it just means I'm going to foxus my attention to the large amount of bug reports left in the database. They all have to go. Alsom, with virtually all of the compendium decrypted, we're going to have to get those unencrypted mission up. I just haven't decided yet where to fit in the manual installation instructions. Updating every single README.TXT is preferable, but tedious. Still, might be worth it :)

The Weekly Trivia this week was very close - in the end, two pilots ended up with the same points total and I have recommended the medal for both of them as a tie. If the TCCOM disagrees I'll have to make a choice. Let's hope he agrees :)

I would like toi remind ALL pilots that any activity that passes via the TC database is fine - all e-mails are being sent and received. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the EH database... Earlier this week, once again, I did not receive e-mail when one of my pilots completed an IU course. As such, if you have any activity at all that would generate e-mail from the EH database, forward me that e-mail when you get it as there's a good chance I won't have goltten it....

      In the headlines this week

  • New pilot joins TC: SLs Starkillerny, Jarion Renald, Harlequn
  • Promotions for Starkillerny and Renald (to LT)
  • MSE medals for November came in - grats to all on your ISMs and PCs
  • Apparantly the EH database still has e-mail issues

  •   Joke of the week

An old-time ventriloquist who's been on the circuit for more than fifty years is touring the clubs and one night he's doing a show in a small club in a small town outside of Chicago.

With his dummy on his knee, he's going through his usual jokes about "the dumb kids these days" when a young fellow in the fourth row stands on his chair and starts shouting:
"I've heard enough of your stupid put-down jokes about my generation. What makes you think you can stereotype us that way? What does age have to do with worth as a human being? It's guys like you who keep young people like me from being respected at work and in the community and from reaching our full potential as a person, because you and old-timers like you continue to perpetuate insulting discrimination against us...and all in the name of humor!"

The ventriloquist is embarrassed and begins to apologize, when the young man yells, "You stay out of this, mister! I'm talking to that little jerk on your knee!"

      Squadron Activity report

You know the drill - this just shows who did what, assuming I know of it. Usually I will. If you did something that should have been here - send me an e-mail :)

  •   Important Competitions

Competitions are the livelihood of this thing we do for fun. I encourage all of you to enter as many competitions as you want to/can. And just let me know about it! Don't forget to check out the website for more information.

  • Delta's Weekly Trivia
Each day of the week (Mon-Fri) you will receive an email with a trivia
question, same as before. 3 pts for the first correct answer, 2 pts for
second and 1 pt for 3rd. At the end of the week, the one with the
most points wins the shiny. As usual, there's extra shinies available for
    accumulating set amounts of points.

  • Delta's End of Year Bash
Another squad competition to generate some activity and medals. See section below this one for details.

  • Ace of the TIE Corps
Each mission flown during a month will count towards your score, with shinies for the top 3 pilots.
At the end of the year, the TC's Top Gun will win a rare IS-PW!

  • MP Ace of the TIE Corps
Each multiplayer victory flown during a month will count towards your score, with shinies for the top 3 pilots.
At the end of the year, the TC's Top Gun will win a rare IS-PW!

  •   Delta's End of Year Bash

I hope this is something for everyone....

  • part 1: IWATS
Once again I will attempt to educate you all with some IWATS
    (IU included) activity :)
    * Complete any IWATS/IU course you want for 1 pt
    * Complete the assigned IWATS/IU course for 2 pts
    * Highest points total at the end of the month wins
    * This week's assigned IWATS/IU Course: General Leadership
    Current standings: Ras Kronar: 2pts

  • part 2: mini runon
I started a small run-on on the Message Boards: The History of Dellyn Tow.
There's an introductory post to set a frame of reference.
    * Submissions should be no longer than 10 lines
    * You can't make 2 submissions in a row.
    * Everyone who makes more than 10 submissions gets an IS-BR
    Current standings: John T Clark : 1pt

  • part 3: That's my kill
Just hoping to generate some flight activity here! Each flight activity counts, but flying the assigned mission
earns extra credit. Extra credit is awarded once a week, so not 3 points for flying all 3!
    * Each SP mission flown earns a point, each MP mission flown earns a point
    * Each SP battle flown earns an extra point, each mission HS earns an extra point
    * Completing the assigned mission earns a bonus point
    * This week's assigned missions:
TIE free 273: Hit and Fasde
          XvT free 223: Choices
XWA free 138: Cadet's Day Out
Current standings: Nutrientman: 7 pts; John T Clark: 2pts

Medals to be won depend on participation - if enough people participate I can award a Silver Ribbon/Wings addon for the winner, with a medal as well for the runner up. If participation is too low, only the winner gets one and that will be a Bronze Ribbon/Wings addon.

      Wrapping up

I could do with more weeks like this. Plenty of medals awarded, for the first time in a long time I am not the only one to fly a battle, and I didn't even remember what IU e-mails look like. Still, I would be happier with better participation in the squad competitions. A run-on cannot be carried by 2 peiople.... Still, we have more to come. Mauybe I should have waited with this competition a month or so, you never know with Christmas around the bend. Oh well, guess I'll have to think up something new for February or so :)
