SPECTRE REPORT #1

REPORTING OFFICER: General Plif, Spectre Commander
DATE SUBMITTED: 31 May 23
ROSTER COUNT: 5

FIRST, AN EXPLANATION

The purpose of this incarnation of Spectre Squadron is to provide an option for pilots that want to be on active duty but aren't looking for the higher operational tempo or activity pressure that we see in other squadrons. Spectre being led by the TCCOM and SOO has two benefits, giving us a chance to practice what we preach on the administrative processes we manage for everyone else and provide a stable leadership team for the "retirement" squadron. "Retirement" in quotes since not all of Spectre's pilots will have already reached the highest line ranks, like LCM Vonnegut. Like the other active duty squadrons, Spectre pilots will be expected to generate some activity at least every 60 days and communicate at least every 30 days. The Reserves are still the right place for pilots that won't be active that often.

Avenger Squadron will go on without the TCCOM and SOO, still serving as a temporary-duty squadron for admirals that wouldn't otherwise have a squadron to report to during Corps-wide events like Raise the Flag. Avenger will now be led by the COO.

IN THE NEWS

Earlier in Spectre's emergence, GN Jarek La'an had joined up with Spectre and served as its Flight Leader. When he decided to hop out, we assigned LCM Matu Vonnegut to the FL spot. Vonnegut was our first non-General and is still our only non-General. Over time, we'll work on that gap.

Spectre's patch was designed by FA Turtle Jerrar, who was keen to help us with that when Spectre was being put together. Thanks, Turtle!

In May, GN Clark was Spectre's most active pilot with 195 LoSs from just the 6th and the 7th. Great job! The rest of us weren't nearly that active but that's okay, it's not a competition month and I've just explained above how Spectre's not really intended to be for go-getters.

COMPETITIONS

Squadron (Re)Mobilization is live! A lot of the tasks are individual effort and we'll need to coordinate on the handful that aren't. The full list is on https://tc.emperorshammer.org/competitions.php?id=3571. Not sure about the rest of you, but I wouldn't mind switching our fighters. As much as I like the TIE Advanced, it's 31 ABY and technology has moved on a bit.

In TIE Corps in Battle, Spectre is right in the middle of the pack with 27 points. We're tied with Epsilon and Firebird and seven points behind Gamma and Typhoon. The fourth and final round for the season is live, details on https://tc.emperorshammer.org/competitions.php?id=3530.

I'm envious of Spectres' squadron patch, it's pretty cool! Looking forward to seeing what ships Spectre upgrades to for Remob 2023
