"Solohan! Pssst...Solohan! Come over here, quickly!"

CMDR Genie whispered loudly to his SQXO, MAJ Solohan50, from the dark corner he was hiding in.

"What's up, boss? Why are you hiding in the shadows like a creeper?", the Ewok asked casually as he picked something out of his fur and then nonchalantly popped it into his mouth.

"Shut up and listen carefully. I'm in deep trouble here. I got drunk and mistakenly told Plif and he was a real PILF. Now he's sending an assassin droid after me! I meant it as a compliment!" , Genie hissed through clenched teeth, trying to stay unseen.

"Ah gee, that sucks boss", the Major said blandly as he continued to pick stuff out of his coat and eat it. "What's that got to do with me?"

"Well, for once, all that crashing you do in the Hammer hangar paid off. Plif had to buy the bargain model of assassin droid because he's out of money from all the repairs. The droid doesn't have facial recognition; the only parameters he could afford were 'blue skin' and 'Lambda CMDR badge'. Quick, you become the CMDR of Lambda and I'll become an FM, then I can hide out until I figure out what do to next." Genie held out the Lambda CMDR badge in his hand, shaking it furiously in an attempt to get Solohan to take it.

"I've gotta say, boss, this isn't your best plan...and you've had some bad plans", the Ewok replied in between bites of whatever detritus he was eating. "But sure, I'll do this for you. You can hide out in the Lambda barracks. Fair warning, though, you might find my bunk to be..."

The Major couldn't finish his sentence before Genie had shoved the badge into his hand and started sprinting towards the shared bunks in the Lambda crew quarters. "Thanks Solohan, I owe you one!", Genie proclaimed as he ran away.

"I was trying to tell him that he was never going to fit in my bunk. Oh well.", the Ewok thought to himself as he continued to absentmindedly snack. He stood in the hallway for a few minutes, waiting for the inevitable sound that he knew would follow.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! WHAT HAVE I DONE?! HOW AM I GOING TO SLEEP HERE?!" Genie yelled, loudly enough for the entire floor to hear him.

The Ewok smirked mischievously to himself and attached the CMDR badge to his uniform. "Now I just need to promote that Jawa to SQXO and then the real fun can begin..."

Squadron News

Greetings Lambda pilots and to the TC as a whole! This is a bit unorthodox, but I wanted to release something of a miniature report to say a few words before I write my first official squadron report at the end of the month.

As many of you know, GN Genie has decided to step down from his role as Lambda's CMDR after holding the role for 2.5 years and that role has been taken up by me, MAJ Solohan50, Lambda's (former) SQXO. It cannot be understated what Genie has done for both Lambda Squadron and the TC as a whole. He constantly pushed to make the TC the best that it could be and he had both a tenacity and drive that are unmatched in this organization. It would be an understatement to simply say that the TC has lost a valued CMDR; truly, losing the voice of such a dedicated pilot is an incalculable loss to the TC leadership in this not-so-humble Ewok's opinion.

On the plus side, Genie will be staying on as a FM with Lambda in the 2-4 spot. I am deeply appreciative of this, as his guidance and help will be invaluable as I attempt to fill his big, blue shoes with my tiny, furry feet. I cannot understate how daunting the idea of taking over this role is. Genie was the model CMDR and I don't know if myself (or anyone else) can truly fill that role. That said, I'm honored to take over the role and I will do my best to live up to the standard of my predecessor.

With all that serious, sentimental stuff out of the way, I look forward to flying with you all and helping Lambda reach newer heights in 2023. We have a fantastic squad filled with a ton of good pilots. I feel that we are well positioned to have another banner year in the Killboards and in the other, upcoming fleet-wide competitions!

I'm also happy to announce that I've chosen CPT Gytheran to be my SQXO. He's one of Lambda's most active and dedicated pilots, and I'm happy to be able to promote him to a position where he can affect even more change. For those of you who are concerned about his history of stealing mission critical components from our ships, I made him promise to only do it to other squads! Sounds like a win-win to me!

Closing Comments

It's a new chapter in Lambda Squadron's history. Let's make 2023 an even better year than 2022 and break even more records! You all know how to get ahold me, please don't hesitate to message me if you need anything!
