Theta Squadron Report #5 |
Date Submitted: September 28, 2022 (30 ABY) This time of year was exciting. Obviously there was the upcoming Fleet-wide comp the ship had been buzzing about. That brought some anxiety for Doc, but also excitement. Last year, he had barely known what Raise the Flag was, as he had just joined a fortnite before the event started in 29 ABY. Doc learned on his feet with the exciting start to his TIE Corps career. Now he was in charge of a squadron, could he live up to his former squadron? He had no doubt that the TIE Defender was a superior craft to any variant of an Interceptor, no matter how many rockets you put on it. But ultimately it came down to the pilots, and that's what RtF is all about. It had been a while since the Commander had flown any missions with his pilots, time to knock some dust off. With the Fleet splitting up to look for the group that attacked Tusorix. Doc suspected that they were pirates, but that's why the Warrior and some support ships were assigned to investigate 2 systems for any presence of the enemy. Part of this mission was also a resupply for the Warrior. Keeping a military of this size working required occassional raids to planets for fuel, food, and other need supplies. Command was sure that somewhere in one of the two systems they would be able to find what they needed. Doc just hoped he didn't have to go on that mission. Just as Doc was deep in his ponderings, the door to his quarters chimed and hissed open. The familiar figure of Rho's Squadron XO, CPT Alexandre "Ossusplayz" Morgan, stood in the doorway. There was no mistaking it, Doc thought, Raise the Flag is definitely here! |

TL-DR: Raise the Flag is upon us! Fly, you fools! Despite that, I will still keep this brief, our biggest competition of the year is upon us. This is the month that, if you have some spare time, message a squadmate, squadron chat, ship chat, or hangar chat to find someone to fly a couple matches with! I will be as available as possible for some :Pew-Pew: so please reach out if you plan to be on pretty much any of our supported games! Fleet News A little more detail for RtF, it is our biggest competition for the coveted TUA (TIE Corps Commander's Unit Award) and MUA ( TIE Corp's Meritorious Unit Award as well as the TCCOM's Wingman (Top Pilot from RtF), TCCOM's Escort Squadron (Top Squadron from RtF), and Flagship of the TIE Corps (Top Ship from RtF). You can now see why points (from graphics, fiction, flying, and even memes) can help you, the squadron, and the ship! Ship News For more detail about RtF, Check out the #rtf-is-remob channel for the rules and point values for the different game modes for this year's RtF. There will also be a tracking website with more information on it as well. That will be up shortly and shared with everyone. I personally favorited it in my browser for the duration, higly recommend! Squadron News Recently, quite a few promotions where announced for the Warrior, a lot of LT's moving up to LCM. A lot of you already have the time requirement fulfilled, but to make the jump to LCM, you need to take the TCCORE Exam. I've mentioned it before, and it is linked, so if you have 30 minutes, that is about how long it will take, and you get to learn a lot more about the TC as a group. |

Competitions |
During October, you will notice that squadron and ship level competitions are less, and that is mainly just because of how big Raise the Flag is. That said, there are still a couple competitions running that I wanted to bring to your attention. As always, you can find the full list of competitions at the (newly improved) Competitions Center. Commanders Competitions of Note: 1. TIE Corps in Battle Season Five 2. Conundrums in Hyperspace: A Logic Puzzle Series 3. Design the Ship and Squadron Mascots |
Conclusion |
Glad to see the squadron's activity pick up and hope it continues this month. I would like to make it a point to fly with as many of you as possible; I've only flown with a few of you and would very much like to remedy that!
