TCCOM REPORT #21

REPORTING OFFICER: Fleet Admiral Plif, TIE Corps Commander
DATE SUBMITTED: 8 Dec 20
ACTIVE DUTY ROSTER COUNT: 144 (+1) Including 3 NPCs

NEWS

The roster hasn't changed much since last time, net gain of one. We have some folks continuing to advertise for us along with some changes being made to how our resources are being displayed to potential recruits, many thanks to the officers that have been making those efforts on our behalf.

FA Silvius contacted the TCCS about his intention to retire from WarCOM at the end of the year, though I'd like to make sure we get his comments for the December MSE process that'll extend a bit into January. As with any officer that resigns from a leadership role in the TIE Corps, we're very happy to have had Silvius' help for as long as he's been able to give it and wish him all the best.

With the news above, please let me know if you'd like to apply for WarCOM. Not looking for anything more than just knowing who's seriously interested in the role at this point, no need to send in anything beyond saying that you'd like to be considered. As with HamCOM recently, our current CMDRs have a slight preference in play for the selection process but that's not to say that a non-CMDR would be ruled out. Tempo for choosing a WarCOM is going to be quicker than it was for HamCOM or WARD, applying officers should contact me by the end of the 12th.

With the November evaluations in progress, a few related reminders:

  • For any questions about the evaluation process, I'd reach out to VA John T. Clark first. He's the one making a lot of the final decisions, I generally just step in when there's not a consensus.
  • For any questions about the evaluation spreadsheets, go ahead and ask me and Clark, whichever one of us is available first will answer first.
  • For any questions about managing competitions, AD Miles Prower is in charge of all that. That includes editing competition descriptions and closing out competitions that should be marked as finished before they were scheduled to end.

The sixth episode of the TIE Pilot Podcast was released, big thanks to CM Jack Wynand, LCM Frenchie6, and CM Bai'et Decol for putting that together for us. Check it out on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iL7GLcAjJnU.

TITLE HOLDERS

The Raise the Flag event each year confers three titles to recognize the top ship, squadron, and individual pilot from the competition. These are the current holders of those titles.

TIE Corps Flagship: ISDII Warrior

TCCOM's Escort Squadron: Rho

TCCOM's Wingman: GN Pickled Yoda

TCCOM'S COMPETITIONS

Everyone's a Critic is in progress, results for November were sent out. Congratulations to the top three: LCM Marek Ny`Irfa, LC Phalk Sturm, and COL Zekk Terrik.

TIE Corps in Battle has assignments for December, those are due at the end of the month. This round we have TIE-TC #119, XvT-TC #103, and XWA-TC #22. I've got some changes in mind for next year, working on fleshing those out so that it'll start on time.

I was optimistic about bringing Trivia Grand Tour back sooner rather than later, but it occurred to me that we already have a lot of competitions overall and several trivia competitions running at the ship and squadron levels. I think what I'll do is a limited holiday run of an idea I had and we'll see what happens for TGT in the new year.

TRANSFERS
  • MAJ Hermann transferred from Tempest Squadron to Sin Squadron
  • LCM Dynamus of Thunder Squadron moved up to a Flight Leader role
  • SL Marcskywalker of Rho Squadron was transferred to the Reserves
