What is a Ready Room? It’s the room where aviators gather for the pre-mission briefing. They get a weather briefing, intelligence / threat briefing and they get the big picture of how their flight that day fits into the overall operation. In other words, how they will work with their allies and teammates to accomplish the goals of the battle or campaign.

I'll be up front with all of you--Gamma's game playing stats are LOW. Mostly because only 4 of our 9 squadron members are active. I've sent everyone an individual Discord message and/or e-mail imploring that you participate at some level above ZERO. A gentle reminder that this is a game playing club and your activity supports a broader effort in Emperor's Hammer. If your activity level is ZERO, you're leaving the rest of the squadron to carry the entire load.

I've learned that some are actually playing but don't bother to log the match on the EH portal. When you do that, you're not helping Gamma or yourself for the effort you put into that match. It takes about 20 seconds to capture a screenshot and input the data into the EH site. Please log your matches!!

I noted in last month's report the difficulty in getting SWS PvP matches. There's been a definite uptick in getting PvP Fleet Battles—it seems that's where the action is moving. I'm either playing PvP or PvE almost every afternoon for a couple of hours. I'm on a quest to continue building my FB skills for the EH effort being led by RA fr0Zen for building an EHTC team. Gamma in Battle & Trivia Grand Tour Season Eight

CM Varik Kassal set up the "Gamma in Battle" competition that started on 7/20 and runs thru 8/20: https://tc.emperorshammer.org/competitions.php?id=7812. These are for us to brush up on our single player skills! I dusted off the old X-Wing Alliance game and flew the Imperium Deception missions. Wow! That was an eye-opening experience to go from the VR Star Wars Squadrons game back to a 1999 DOS game. But I assure you I had fun. Please support Gamma's competitions. A crossword puzzle competition is coming on 1 Aug.

Next up is the Raise the Flag (RtF) 2024 competition coming in September. This will determine the Flagship of the TIE Corps, the TCCOM’s Escort Squadron, and TCCOM’s Wingman for the next 12 months. Any forms of activity presented by the pilots will get points for their ships. Last year Gamma finished a strong 4th among 16 squadrons. We flew a lot of missions to accomplish that…

I've been the Gamma Commander for 3 months and I'll be up front with you, I'm disappointed in the dwindling activity. I keep reminding everyone that we joined this "gaming club" to be part of a TEAM effort starting at the squadron level, then the battle group, on up to the TIE Corps. Please get your GAME ON and be part of the action!!

The down side of the low activity is moving non-participating members out of Gamma into the reserves. The TIE Corp Pilot Manual is clear on this in the section "Activity Expectation". I'll continue to do this as I make room for squadron members that will contribute to the mission objectives.

Again, I'll encourage the SWS players to join the EHTC Fleet Battles Team where we'll compete in the Squadrons Championship League. We're practicing twice a week and I think we'll field a strong team!
