Theta Squadron Report #17

REPORTING OFFICER: LC Vapen Van'an, CMDR
TO: Theta Squadron, RA Adom Wietu, TIE Corps
DATE SUBMITTED:April 8, 32 ABY (2024)

Vapen sat on one of the jump seats in the rear of Flight 3's Lambda class shuttle, being piloted by Theta's Flight Leader, LT Jai Thorne. They were on the return journey to the Warrior from the surface of one of the friendly worlds the TC had liberated from the Kilji. They had been conducting some aid missions and other ventures to build a good rapport between the TC and the locals. The Warrior was in orbit of the planet, undergoing repairs.

The war with the Kilji had taken a heavy toll on the ships of the TIE Corps, but the morale of the group still held strong. This was not the first time they had been in a fight with an enemy that had the advantage, and it wouldn't be the last. But with the power of the Emperor on their side (and some help from the Secret Order), there was no enemy that could resist for long.

Vapen was snapped out of his pondering by newly reactivated LT Matt Brass when he entered the cargo hold of the shuttle, descending from the cockpit.

"Colonel, we've been approved for landing, we'll be touching down momentarily."

"Thank you Lieutenant," Vapen replied, "How has service been treating you since reactivating?"

"I've been enjoying it, spent a lot of time on Aurora Prime, refreshing my knowledge in a lot of different subjects at the Imperial University."

"Keep up the good work! A lot can change in 19 years, but your hard work has not gone unnoticed. 34 courses in almost as many days is incredibly impressive!"

As he finished speaking, there was the distinctive feel of the landing gear taking the weight of the ship, signalling their arrival. Vapen stood and headed for the gangway as LT Jai descended from the cockpit. The Lieutenants formed up on their Commander as the mouth of the shuttle opened.

"Well fellas, for a job well down, how about some drinks on me at the cantina. I imagine the rest of the squadron is waiting on us."

Fleet News

gcm-tkon-rift.png Imperial Storm VI has come to an end with strong results! The TC was able to destroy almost 60% of the enemy forces as well as capture over 50% of the planets in the Tkon Rift. Due to our valiant efforts, we have established a foothold in the Rift to allow for future adventures and battles.

Due to the success of the assault, all pilots have been awarded the Tkon Rift Campaign Medal! Great job!

Squadron News

Theta put forth an incredibly impressive performance for the fleet in fighting the orange scourge. Between all the numbers put up in the countless battles, we put up the third most points of all squadrons. Great work Theta, your efforts were a big reason for the fleet's success in this major competition!

Also, take a moment to welcome our newest member (and newly promoted) LT Bjornyorn, recruited by our very own Flight Leader, LT Jai Thorne. Welcome to Theta!

Competitions

Competitions that Caught the CMDR's Eye:

Repair the Fleet!

For this competition you will be delving into the caves of Deep Rock Galactic to seek materials for our fleet. Score will be determined by the total number of credits earned from your completed missions. A 25% penalty will be applied if you do not successfully extract from the mission. Please send screenshots of the results screen to eh.gianwebb@gmail.com. Beyond credits, gold ore will also be counted towards bonus ORAs. Good luck and happy mining.

How to Elite Dangerously 2.0

For the next 3 months, Honsou and/or Taurus will host a weekly gathering on Friday evenings, where pilots from across the TIE Corps can come and ask about anything from the basics of Combat, Exploration and Mining, to the intricacies of trade routes and faction politics in Elite Dangerous, whilst playing the game together. We will also be happy to help with any advice on ship builds and the best ways to proceed in a chosen career in game. There will also be opportunities to accompany us on community events to make significant cash gains.

SWTOR Conquest 2: The search for more Conquest, Season 3

Pilots within the official organizational guilds on the Star Forge server (“Emperor’s Hammer” for the Sith Empire and “Infiltrator Wing” for the Republic) will compete against each other for placement awards while they aide the organization to meet its in-game goals.
