WO Report # 0 (2003-05-20)

This report was submitted by AD Pel

Gentlemen,

I present to you the framework for Imperial Storm IV: Sink the Sov. As we speak FO Priyum is preparing a web site, and I am setting up the map. Now is where I need your help. These are the intended scenario and rules, I'd like to hear if A) you think the game is unfair/not workable B) if you want to play with daily moves, or three times per week (M-W-F) and C) what you want your fleet to be, and who else will be on your staff for this game.

I am of course available for questions/comments/suggestions, and as usual the standard wargame rules are still in effect, except as modified below.

Map is under construction, but basically the Sov team will get to place their forces (the Sov and 20K points of ships) first, anywhere they wish. Each of the other teams (BGs, ASF, ATF) will get 15K points of ships, and an assigned starting point. If after 25 turns, noone has found the Sov, the Sov team will win. If the Sov has been seen before then, the game will be won by the team that destroys the Sov. If noone has destroyed the Sov by the end of Turn 30 then we will look at the formula (Points of enemies killed)/ (points of ships lost) and add to that any points so dedicated to final score from the battles.

Battles will be run with the usual XWA skirmishes, but will also utilize the new TIE/XvT Free mission method that is working well in the Sov game. A Free mission will be given out for both platforms at the same time that a battle time is set for the XWA skirmish. The Free missions will have to be turned it at the same time as the XWA battle is flown. Each person's score shall be compared to the High Score for the mission, and shall be turned into a percentage. Before the scores are announced, a TFA will have the option of A) saving ships with the points, B) applying the points to his win total, C) blocking the enemy from doing A or B.

There will be no replacement ships in this game.

Ships will be chosen from the following list ONLY

T/F 70
T/B 70
T/I 90
IRD 70
T-W 80
Z95 80

ESC 500
INT 700
CRV 300
ISD 2400
A/FRG 1000
VSD 1000

In addition to the above forces, each of the three attackers shall have two (2) bomb-runs. Once they have found the Sov, they may use two squadrons of GUNs (either both at once, or seperatly) armed with whatever warhead they choose, to send against the Sov. These GUNs do not exist, except for on these runs.....(because it's damn hard to kill an SSD without some sort of warheads). Should the attacking teams choose to ally, they may send their Bomb-rus in together....
