After much deliberation, and the review of a large number of excellent applications, I have decided to appoint Major Devin Taralis of the ISD Grey Wolf to the position of Training Office Assistant. Major Taralis currently serves as the Squadron Commander of Tartarus Squadron, Wing XIII, and has done for over 4 months. Congratulations! 

Rear Admiral Autoris Maximus, former Professor of the Eggdrop (BOT) Course, has also been forced to resign from the Emperor’s Hammer due to military commitments. I thank him for his work as a Professor, and wish him all the luck. Thus, the position of Eggdrop Professor is open for applications (See below).

Fleet Admiral Aiden Cantor Karias, an experienced and knowledgeable Officer has been placed as the next Computer Basics (CBX) Professor. Captain Praetorian of the ISD Vanguard has also been selected as the next Graphics (GFX) Professor. The Graphics Course will be made available once more, and the backlog of Computer Basics exams has now been graded. I wish both these Officers luck in their new posts.

I have received an incredible number of applications for the position of AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) Professor, an instance that has prompted me to remind all applicants, and future applicants, that the status of Professor can be a demanding role. Professors are responsible for the management of their Course content, the correlation of Graduate counts and the marking of exams – none of these responsibilities should be taken lightly.

The position of AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) Professor has also been selected. My congratulations go out to Captain Alec Qarni, also of the ISD Vanguard. Every application I received was excellent, and I commend all those Officers that submitted them.

As the Tactical Officer is so insistent to point out; the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter Mission Creation Course, Number 2 (XTM/2), is available at http://www.ehnet.stnet.pl/xtm/ and has been added to the Training Office sites’ listing. The Computer Basics (CBX) Course has also been updated, and is available at http://theholo.net/cbx.

I would like to express my praise to the Imperial Senate for their gradual development of the Imperial University. An institution very close to my heart, the University may be small, but the standard of Courses that they have produced thus far is exceptional, and highly unconventional. I look forward to working closely with the Chancellor of the Imperial Senate in the future.

The Training Office is still not currently excepting new IWATS Course proposals. This is a temporary measure I have set in place so that I can ensure all Courses are up-to-date, have active Professors, and provide knowledge of value to those that complete them (this does not apply to potential Courses that I have already reviewed). Please refrain from sending me proposals until I announce that I am once more in a position to accept them; doing so merely wastes my time, and yours.

A reminder, when you submit a competition and I label it “Requires more information”, you will need to e-mail me separately to inform me that you have updated it (or resubmit the competition) as the database currently does not put updated competition requests back into the active list. This is only a minor problem but take heed if you want your competition reviewed quickly.

Eggdrop (BOT) Professor Open for Applications

Following the resignation of Vice Admiral Sarin from the position of AIM Professor, the position is now open for applications. The requirements are:

• An active member of the Emperor’s Hammer.
• Holding at least the rank of Lieutenant (or equivalent).
• Extensive knowledge of the creation and management of Eggdrop bots.
• Be willing to grade exam submissions within 24 hours.
• [Optional –Desired] Currently hosting an Eggdrop bot.

Applications should be sent to me (to@emperorshammer.org) with the subject “BOT Prof Application”. Due to the nature of the position, there is no closing date for applications; they will remain open until such time as a relevantly competent individual is found.
