I would like to welcome Vice Admiral RogueWing of the ISD Immortal to the position of X-Wing: Alliance Mission Creation Professor. The Training Office also extends its utmost thanks to the former Professor, High Admiral Striker, who recently relinquished the post.
Admiral Khaine and I have been contemplating the issue of Combat Rating ‘Races’ as official competitions. I have decided that all future internal unit competitions (this is not applicable to existing competitions) of this nature will be denied. I would like to highlight the emphasise on “internal unit competitions”; this only applies to a competition involving one unit (Squadron, Wing etc.) and not to a inter-unit competition – I.e. Squadron vs. Squadron, Wing vs. Wing etc. We have reached this conclusion because we feel that the granting of an award (in this case, and Iron Star) for achieving another award (in this case, Legions of Combat and Distinguished Flying Crosses) is a foolish enterprise that benefits few.
Thus, I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage more inter-unit competitions. Such competitions are generally very enjoyable, and there is no harm in a wee bit of friendly rivalry…
The Training Office is now accepting Course proposals. With stability now re-established within IWATS, and a full compliment of IWATS Staff on the near horizon, I have decided to re-open the Office to proposals of new Courses to be included in the IWATS repertoire. There are few restrictions upon proposals; I am open to many diverse and innovative ideas, and would like to encourage the proposal of specifically non-programming Courses at this time.
The position of Active Server Page Professor is still open for applications, but only for another 4 days.
Active Server Page (ASP) Professor Open for Applications
Following the resignation of Lieutenant Colonel Tissaya Argat from the position of ASP Professor, the position is now open for applications. The requirements are:
· An active member of the Emperor’s Hammer.
· Holding at least the rank of Lieutenant (or equivalent).
· Extensive knowledge of Active Server Pages, preferably in an online database scenario.
· Be willing to grade exam submissions within 24 hours.
· Keeping accurate Graduate Counts (total and per month).
· Maintaining/updating the Course Notes.
Applications should be sent to me (to@emperorshammer.org) with the subject “ASP Prof Application”. Unlike previous advertisements, the closing date for applications for ASP Professor is Friday 25th April 2003.
