Greetings
all, and welcome to another report from the Flight Office...

PROMOTIONS AND RETIREMENTS **
This past
week has been notable for one thing - the number of promotions,
appointments and retirements that have happened. The Fleet bid a find farewell
to Fleet Admiral Kramer, who after 4 years and 1 month decided
to retire from his position as Sovereign Commodore. He's been here for longer
than most people can remember, and his presence will be missed.
In his
place I have appointed Rear Admiral Proton, the former Wing V
WC. Proton has proven his abilities very successfully in the past, and was not
only my first choice, but also came highly recommended from FA Kramer and
Admiral Havoc. Many congratulations to RA Proton!
His first task as the new SovCOM was to pick a new Wing Commander for Wing V,
and this he's done...congratulations go out to Colonel Sickman!
Following Colonel
Ricaud's retirement, the new Relentless Commodore has been selected by
Vice Admiral Adrenaline, and approved by the Flight Office -
congratulations to Rear Admiral Lohr Zadash! A long standing
member of the Wing, Lohr was the former Wing Commander, and highly qualified
for the COM position. The position of Wing IX WC thus far has not been filled,
and any queries in regards to this should be directed to RA Zadash
(efalle@nbnet.nb.ca).
I was
pleased to process the promotion of Colonel Badlands, Wing XI
WC, to the rank of General - a request that came with glowing
recommendations from both his COM and BGCOM.
I was also
pleased to be able to announce the promotion of Vice Admiral Cyric,
Battlegroup Commander of the ASF, to the rank of full Admiral.
Cyric is undoubtedly one of the hardest working Officers in the TIE Corps,
who's sterling work often goes unnoticed by most. Having held the same position
myself not so long ago, I fully appreciate the amount of time and effort that
goes into running a Battlegroup and so this is a very well deserved promotion.
Congrats Cyric!
Major
Ranthier Khaen
very recently announced his resignation his position as XIX Wing Commander, and
from the Fleet. For the time being, please assume that VA Firefox and RA
Shadowhawk are NOT accepting applications for the position - if they are, then
it'll be announced. On a related note, Wing Commander for Wing XVIII should be
selected very shortly, so those of you who applied, please sit tight.
Once again,
congratulations to those who have been promoted, and farewell to those who have
left - I hope whatever time you had in the TIE Corps was an enjoyable one.
** IMPERIAL
STORM **
Well...with
Kramer's recent departure, things have kinda been left in the lurch with this
wargame. I have therefore decided to call it a day and end it. We played
through 10 full turns, which despite being plagued by delays and leaves,
produced half a dozen or so enjoyable evenings of battles for those that took
part. A full debriefing for this will be out shortly, with reports from the
TFAs.

TIE CORPS COMMANDER'S AWARD **
After a
brief absence, this Award is back, for the month of August, goes to Wing
XX! Despite being opened recently, the Wing is already going strong
and has a good stable crew. The Wing impressed both myself and Admiral Havoc
with it's high level of activity and great staff...congrats!
(The image
of the TCCOM Award on the Flight Office page is out of date - we're in the
process of getting a new, better one, made up).
** FLIGHT
OFFICE **
The
recently refurbished Flight Office (http://www.btinternet.com/~spellfire/flightoffice.html)
has been selected as Site of the Week by IO/AD Ari! w00t!
** YOU
NAUGHTY PEOPLE! **
This past
week has also been notable for the number of punishments handed out by the HCI
to cheaters in the TIE Corps - ranging from the obligatory demotion/medal wipe,
to in some cases, expulsion from the Club.
As others
have already done so, let me make this clear. Cheating will not be tolerated.
Whether you did it two years ago, or two hours ago, eventually you will be
caught and punished. It's simply not worth the time or effort, so please do
yourselves a favour, and give it a miss. Thank you.
